  1. I would listen to them all play kazoos while wearing space helmets. Anything they play is a-ok by me at show (as long as it's not late greats... kinda over that one live now )
  2. today at work I caught a lot of flack from a co-worker about my choices when it comes to music. particularly my choice of #1 favorite band of 10+ years (crazy that it's been over 10 years now!) they proceeded to tell me that i need a "real hobby" besides spending money on a band that "doesn't even get played on the freakin' radio, and no one's ever heard of". they told me that my "zealousness was tiresome" and that "people at the lunch table make fun of my wilco stories when i leave the room". this person's words hurt me so much i broke into tears at work. what's worse, and they really didn't
  3. Listening to this show now. Jeff's banter is hilarious "do not call my house" I laughed at that for a long time.
  4. if you listen to the song while looking at the little dancey smiley it might help (it synchs up with the song)... that's the only song from the whole love that i didn't get to see live! one day....

Yes! So glad you hear you were able to recover the cash, cd's and other stuff. More good vibes.

People who steal are horrible people. I had my backpack stolen out of my trunk in the fall (among the contents my less-than-a-month-old macbook pro) and it was so violating. I can only imagine an entire car. Maybe the police will find it!! Did you have insurance? Maybe you can get some sweeter wheels? Hang in there!!
  7. Track 29 reminds me of a sort of warehouse environment. It's basically a big flat building. Really, it reminded me of an airplane hanger. It's okay. If you're on the rail the sound is way too loud. So if you're planning to be up front bring ear plugs. The last couple shows I started out on the rail and then moved back because I got tired of being pushed into the barricade, and annoyed by how extremely loud it was. But I plan to stick it out for the avetts. Overall, it's not a bad place. Not my favorite place to see a show, but the best option Chattanooga has right now besides the Tivo
  8. I wish this show was on netflix instant so bad

Oh my god! That is terrible! I am so sorry to hear. Good vibes from southeast TN coming your way.
  10. and by reading this thread i've learned that roadie's name is josh. he was really cool in atlanta. nice dude! this setlist.... wow
  11. why let them get under your skin? family nicknames stick, and i think they're cute (for instance, my sister is known to close family and friends as Bob)
  12. Pushing and shoving your way to the front is wrong, because people wait in a line in a nice orderly fashion to be up front. It's courteous and respectful. I have never, ever pushed my way up front to a show.
  13. I think it's fun to do, because being up front really enhances my concert experience. It makes waiting exciting and sometimes you get to see the band before the show. I think the longest I've waited before a Wilco gig was 6 hours, and it wasn't GA. I was just trying to say hi to jeff... didn't manage to that show. But it was still fun trying, and it gave my friends a good story to tell when they want to show how ridiculous I get about WIlco.
  14. very cool thanks for posting. the thing about jeff doing the weather is hilarious. http://www.wgntv.com/videogallery/66789435/News/Wilco-front-man-forecasts-the-weather
  15. welch79, If you're looking for things to do in Chatt before the show there's a lot going on downtown. It's way smaller than Nashville, but I like it. How was the Bridgestone show? My sister went to a show at a baseball park in Knoxville, and she had a great time. I've only seen the Avetts one other time at a small theatre here in Chatt (missed Wilco for that one!) Really looking forward to it!
  16. ELS.... that's not dorky! That's awesome! I too started playing guitar young (11) and I'm 24 now. The first time I met Jeff, I said something like "Oh my gosh, when I first started playing guitar I started jumping off my amps like you used to when you were in the Primitives!!" he was really funny about it, and said something like "My knees can't handle all that now!"
  17. Just sent you a message. I missed the part where you were looking for $500 though... if I weren't a college student and only working part time. *sigh* I wrote so many damned haikus trying to win that thing!
  18. I have better luck talking to the band pre-show than after. Try the afternoons.... around soundcheck time.
  19. So far, I haven't seen any on broker sites. I checked. Only 2 for double face on craigslist
  20. Yeah, I don't really think I'm gonna say anything. It sucks, but I don't know them well enough to really step in and try to intervene.
