I've just been a really dedicated fan for a long time (since I was 13, I'm 24 now) and gotten the oppertunity to talk with Jeff several times. He's always been super nice to me, and so the dedication was super cool. The 2nd one I've gotten at a Wilco show! Hoping the tape shows up sooner or later. I did see a taper. I loved ATL, mostly cos our seats were so close. If I could mix all three of the shows together, ATL, and both nights at the Ryman (subtracting one really terrible person behind me) it would be the perfect Wilco show.

Wow. I can't describe these Ryman shows. It was incredible. I thought Atlanta was amazing, but the Ryman is great. Just great. Also, Brianne, I wished I would have known you were there! We could have finally met!!! There was sort of a bummer for me during "Rising Red Lung"- we were in the balcony limited view section, couldn't see Glenn or Mikael all night. And Matthew and I had elected to stand before the show started. We even told the people directly behind us that we planned on standing. They were cool with it. There was another guy right beside them who was totally rude from the moment

Wednesday night was a lot of fun. The cowd, I thought, could have been into it a little more, but honestly, I wasn't paying much attention to any of them. The band was really amazing. I was happy with the set list. Matthew and I were getting a lot of eye contact from Jeff the whole night, it was really fun, because I was all smiles rocking out and singing along. It was just a blast to hear the new songs live. So much energy!!! I was shocked when Jeff dedicated "Standing O" to me. Matthew and I made a sign that said "Wilco, will you play Standing O?" and the other side said "Thank you Wilco

"No More Poetry" because the lyrics are fun "Magazine Called Sunset" because it's sweet "Dark Neon" because it makes me dance

that was what i didn't get either. the run time of the side wouldn't change based on the order.... the only think i can think of would be the placement of the actual grooves on the vinyl, that might make a difference.

Tom Waits is great. I got turned on to him thanks to this board. Gonna get this new record for sure.
-
absolutely. i really think John's bass lines on a lot of the songs make the songs. I feel like SBS was Nel's time to shine, and TWL is John's, so to speak

I'll be there tonight! Got 4th row pit seats on a fluke off ticketmaster. Couldn't pass them up. Can not wait!! If anybody wants to say hey, my fiancé and I will be hanging around the venue all afternoon to try to talk to the band I think... my fiancé is wearing a green plaid shirt and i've got a green sweater on. Looking forward to the show. Haven't seen the band since last year's show at the Fox.

it through me off, but i sort of like the vinyl order better.
-
this song is awesome. Can't wait to see it live on Wednesday.

Anybody else notice that the track listing on the vinyl is different than on the CD. "Whole Love" is the 1st song on side 3 of the vinyl.... thought it to be odd. Heard that it was re-ordered to fit OSM on 1 side, but that doesn't really make sense, why would the songs be rearranged if their running times are the same (well, I mean OSM is longer, but why would that change the order)-?

They are not a jam band. To me, jam bands don't really have a lot of structure to their songs. Wilco has structure.
-
very exciting! They look so big with all those tiny desks.
-
Agree. It does have more of an emotional pull than "Spiders" It's just plain intense for me. Having only seen it done live once, I'm hoping to see it on Wednesday and Saturday.
-
What a wonderful post, Crow Daddy Magnus. Post like this are why I still read VC after 10 years. I agree completely with what you said about The Whole Love.

kinda unrelated, but kinda related: the 1st time i met jeff, the very 1st thing i said was "When I play guitar I jump off my amp like you used to jump off your amp when you were in the Primitives!!!!!" he looked very amused and said "I hope you're not landing on your knees! That's a bitch!" then we talked about poetry for about ten minutes. If I could ask him one thing I would ask: "How's it going?"
-
My fiancé and I are planning on hanging around the venue before the show on Saturday to perhaps talk to any of the guys in the band. We're thinking of being down there pretty much all day.
-
did you make a record of fart kazoos?
-
fantastic! i think i'm going to be playing this record for the entirety of September
-
Hi, I forgot, sarcasm doesn't translate very well on the internets. My bad! Still, revolting is a bit strong a word when it comes to talking about hardcore fans, don't you think? (also, clarinet! on Capitol City!) and for the record, i would love this album if it were just fart noises and a kazoo.
-
troll? Sure, everyone has their opinions, but to call someone "revolting" because of their own opinion? Srsly? Also on a warm note, listen #3 and it still makes me smile
-
i think it's my #2 favorite on the record so far behind "Art of Almost"
-
this. this. this. the record blows my expectations outta the water edit: ps- thanks Kalle!

Does anyone know if kung-fu takes the money for the pre-order right away, or if they wait until they ship? My boyfriend bought me a bundle, and said the money went out of his account, but is currently back in there. He has not been emailed by kung-fu saying there was a problem. I can't remember how it was done when W(TA) came out.

For Atlanta, we have Center Orch Row DDD (so I am guessing that's 4th row in the front) for Wednesday night. For Nashville, we have Balcony Row D section 15. Though, I am going to be a nice big sister, and give those seats to my sister and take her limited view seats in section 16, because our seats for Atlanta are so nice.
