kinda unrelated, but kinda related: the 1st time i met jeff, the very 1st thing i said was "When I play guitar I jump off my amp like you used to jump off your amp when you were in the Primitives!!!!!" he looked very amused and said "I hope you're not landing on your knees! That's a bitch!" then we talked about poetry for about ten minutes. If I could ask him one thing I would ask: "How's it going?"

My fiancé and I are planning on hanging around the venue before the show on Saturday to perhaps talk to any of the guys in the band. We're thinking of being down there pretty much all day.

did you make a record of fart kazoos?
-
fantastic! i think i'm going to be playing this record for the entirety of September
-
Hi, I forgot, sarcasm doesn't translate very well on the internets. My bad! Still, revolting is a bit strong a word when it comes to talking about hardcore fans, don't you think? (also, clarinet! on Capitol City!) and for the record, i would love this album if it were just fart noises and a kazoo.
-
troll? Sure, everyone has their opinions, but to call someone "revolting" because of their own opinion? Srsly? Also on a warm note, listen #3 and it still makes me smile

i think it's my #2 favorite on the record so far behind "Art of Almost"

this. this. this. the record blows my expectations outta the water edit: ps- thanks Kalle!

Does anyone know if kung-fu takes the money for the pre-order right away, or if they wait until they ship? My boyfriend bought me a bundle, and said the money went out of his account, but is currently back in there. He has not been emailed by kung-fu saying there was a problem. I can't remember how it was done when W(TA) came out.

For Atlanta, we have Center Orch Row DDD (so I am guessing that's 4th row in the front) for Wednesday night. For Nashville, we have Balcony Row D section 15. Though, I am going to be a nice big sister, and give those seats to my sister and take her limited view seats in section 16, because our seats for Atlanta are so nice.
-
i know a lot of the concert goers are really obnoxious in atlanta. the drunks at the fox show last year were terrible, but that's part of it.
-
JFF- there's a ton of good seats for atlanta. i know it's a bit of a drive, but the place they're playing is super nice.
-
I lucked out at got 4th row pit seats for Atlanta! I was messing on ticketmaster waiting for the Ryman on sale to open up and "practicing" buying tickets to the 1st Atlanta show, and those tickets came up. I jumped on them immediately (Atlanta is technically closer than Nashville anyway). Sometimes you get lucky with ticketbastard. Got 4th row balcony for the 1st ryman show. Never been in the balcony there, so I'm excited. Can't wait for the shows!

Concert Marathons...most you have seen in short amount of time?

i would absolutely love to be in your shoes for those shows. wow. i think the most i've done ia 8 shows in a month. -
At the 2007 show in Knoxville he plays a bit of "Immigrant Song" and the crowd goes "aaaahhh aaaa aaaaaahhhhh ahhh" a couple times. it was badass.

I don't think Dubya bashing will ever get old. He was terrible. And for Sir Paul!!
-
have you sold em yet??
-
me and my little sister are gonna try to make the nashville show...
-
i LOVED it. a lot. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and "I Believe In You" brought tears to my eyes. The friends I went with and myself really debated hard about going to the Ryman show tonight. DIdn't happen, mostly cos I have a ton of school bills to deal with soon.
-
i think hitchhiker will def be on the new record. especially because i bought a button at the show that says the hitchhiker.
-
Yeah- the Autumn Defense would be good in that situation. In fact, I am going to try that one out...

I've never thought about Wilco songs in this particular context.
-
for some reason that made me laugh a lot. i bought a neat record bag at target, but it will only hold about 5 records. not really a moving solution. my dad's friend made his own record storage boxes out of some sort of thick plastic sheeting... really weird but cool. good luck with the move!
-
I've only seen it once live, and I loved it. To me it feels almost more orchestral than a lot of other Wilco songs. Sort of like an "art" song- classical music buffs will know what I mean by the term.
