  1. What a fun night! Oh man, it was really great. I for one, loved, the theatrics. The people in full body leotards where hilarious, and the music was great. My sister actually ended up getting to see them the next night in Atlanta. Kishi Bashi was awesome too.
  2. Nice to hear. I'm looking forward to Kishi. I knew of him before I knew he was in with Of Montreal because he did strings on the road for Sondre Lerche (who I'm a little bit obsessed with). I've listened to his EP and really enjoy it. Can't wait to see it live. Of Montreal is my sister's favorite band, and they played a free outdoor thing here years ago. After the show I was able to get Kevin Barnes' autograph for my sister. She didn't think much of them then, but now is all about them. It will be fun to get to go with her to her favorite band's show. It'll be interesting to see the tables
  3. I didn't realize there was a new rockplast even out there... thanks.
  4. Last time I talked to him I was chilling by the bus around the time of soundcheck (it was 3-4pm). Also gave the tip to hang by the bus around that time to a kid whom I'd met the day before who was a huge fan, and that night after the show he shook my hand, said he'd met Jeff, and could cross that one off his bucket list. One of the highlights of the trip was helping that kid.
  5. I love Patrick Park, thanks to you, Donna! He write really good songs.
  6. The first thing I ever said to Jeff was: "I saved you the Diet Coke in the cooler" The second was: "When I was 14 I jumped off my amps just like you used to!" Both made him laugh. I always forget to ask him things I think of. Maybe I should make a list for Birmingham...
  7. I bug the venue that brought the Avetts to town back in December nearly every day about bringing Wilco.
  8. I didn't even ask my husband before I bough it, I figure I can ask forgiveness when it comes and is in a snazzy new frame.
  9. Finally snagged the one from my very first show! After years of searching for it!
  10. The late 90's boy band stuff is gold... I really like late 70's which bleeds into early 80's for the post-punk movement, but when it comes to overall consistency of records I listen to repeatedly, I say that it's from 1965-1975. Golden era for my ears.
  11. I heard a rumor they're going to play in Chattanooga... (I also started that rumor)
  12. I dig it. Really nice vocals. The keys player looks like Andy from Parks and Recreation. Also whistle duos are awesome! PS- your avatar rules.
  13. the thing that made me laugh the most out of this is: "how many little baby magazines have YOU fathered..."
  14. Congrats to Tom! How was the wedding??
  15. Really digging the new record. Can't wait to see him in June.
  16. this is my new favorite thread
  17. Hey guys, Thanks for all the responses! The wedding went with "just one hitch" (thank my father for the joke ) Matt and I had a great time, It was weird though. Family kept pulling me in 3 different directions all at one time most of the reception, and I only got about 3 bites of cake because people kept talking to us. It was weird. Matt and I weren't together a lot during the reception because people kept talking and congratulating us. Eventually we went off by ourselves only to be found by the photographer, who took this very paparazzi like picture. All in all it was an excellent day.
  18. I'm having a hard time getting into it. Listened to it several times, but not in heavy rotation. Probably gonna start cranking it up in the car over the next 2 weeks. Seeing them live April 6 here in Chattanooga. Looking forward to it. They're my sister's favorite band at the moment, so our mom bought us tickets for the gig for Christmas.
  19. I was in my Spanish class when I read about his death, and I thought it was a joke at first. It was a Monday or a Tuesday (can't remember now) but what I do remember is the Sunday before I had listened to "XO" and wondered what was going on with Elliott, if he was gonna put out more records. Then hearing he had died I was so freaked out. One of the 1st musicians I truly loved as a kid that passed. (Besides George Harrison). At the time "XO" was the only record of his I had. Bought it based on the recommendation of a French pen pal I had at the time. That Christmas I got every single recor
  20. Blue Eyed Soul absolutely! Magazine Called Sunset Hell Is Chrome Wishful Thinking (though I finally got to hear that full band style in 2010!) Dreamer In My Dreams
  21. I say go for it. I've seen Son Volt 4 or 5 times now, and each time it was worth the money. The 1st time I saw them on the Okemah tour was the best though. They were loud and rocking out the whole time, or at least as rocking as one can be staring at their shoes. Absolutely worth the door charge though. I wish they'd come back to Chattanooga.

I don't know I guess I just like the idea of letter grades. I want to know that I've done a good job instead of it being one way or the other. Satisfactory doesn't have as good a ring to it as A+ does. So far in my story, there's a couple fighting. Dude gets a black eye from girl because she throws a shoe at him expecting him to duck, but he doesn't. I don't really know where to go from there. I know they need to fight, and eventually it resolves in them somewhat making up, but I don't know where they're going, or why they're there together fighting in the 1st place.
