II is my favourite, followed closely by Physical Graffiti... The Remasters double disc is also a good place to start and you can pick that up quite cheaply now I think... I remember my Dad playing II to me on casette when I was a kid... I remember it blowing my mind; those riffs, that voice, the drumming... that was it then, hooked!

I am finding it really slow as well - at work I've got a fast computer, but it saps resources and the flipping through the album covers takes forever... of course, could just be a windows XP thing...

My thoughts echo yours... disappointed on first play and it didn't really involve me... it seemed to be experimentation for experimentations sake, nothing coherant threads to pull you along. But yeah, the second half of the album rules a lot - Viscera Eyes is really good...
