bjorn_skurj
I don't recall the world ending in either 1969 or 1986. The only thing that makes me think the Apocalypse won't come before my leather underwear gets back from the cleaners is that the Cubs are in the shitter. If they start playing well in the second half, start stockpiling food.
bobbob1313
One of my favorite quotes from scrubs is when the Janitor asks JD if he would rate being him as being as miserable as either A: being born without lips or B: being a lifelong cubs fan.

Fakeliz
I'm going through baseball withdrawal. I didn't even realize I was hooked until this week. And I'm rooting for a last-place team! Get the games back on already!Me too! Cheers to not being a fairweather fan. To celebrate the end of the break, I believe I'll go to the Royals game on Tuesday and get a complimentary Buck O'Neil jersey-style Monarchs t-shirt.
Guest baseball bobblehead
Mark Tiexiera had a nice game.it is about f*cking time. I was going to trade him for gary sheffield. Me too! Cheers to not being a fairweather fan. To celebrate the end of the break, I believe I'll go to the Royals game on Tuesday and get a complimentary Buck O'Neil jersey-style Monarchs t-shirt. i'm so jealous that you guys can so easily go to games. i think i'd rather have a last place team i can see any time i want than a first (or second) placed team that i can never go watch. And, now THREE of my favorite red sox players are on the Royals team. Mark, Tony and Dougie

explodo
Maybe Manny Ramirez because he'd probably try and put it in your ass. I was going to say Pujols, what with his last name and all, but I figured it too overused.
tongue-tied lightning
NEW YORK (AP) - Sidney Ponson is about to get another chance, this time with the New York Yankees. Ponson was cut by the St. Louis Cardinals last week and the Yankees, desperate to find a fifth starter, expect to sign the talented-but-troubled pitcher on Friday.Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday the deal "made sense, compared to everything else that was available to us." Once among baseball's more promising pitchers, Ponson's career has been derailed by alcohol problems. Baltimore released him last September, saying his behavior gave them grounds to terminate his contract. Ponson is set to make his first start for the Yankees on Tuesday night at home against Seattle. The Yankees will pay between $150,000 and $175,000 to sign Ponson for the rest of the season. The Yankees were three games behind Boston in the AL East at the All-Star break. Ponson would join Mike Mussina, Randy Johnson, Chien-Ming Wang and Jaret Wright in the rotation. Starter Shawn Chacon is still on the roster, too, but there's been speculation the Yankees will soon make a move with him. Released by Baltimore in the offseason, Ponson signed a $1 million deal with St. Louis. The 29-year-old righty started the season 3-0, but slumped and was 4-4 overall with a 5.24 ERA when the Cardinals designated him for assignment last Friday. "He's still got a great arm," Cashman said. Ponson won 17 games in 2003 when he pitched for Baltimore and San Francisco, but has struggled on and off the field since then. Ponson was convicted last December of driving while impaired and sentenced to five days in jail - his arrest in August marked his third drunk driving offense. The pitcher also spent 11 days in jail in his native Aruba after fighting on a beach. Cashman said the Yankees believe Ponson is worth the risk because he's made changes to his life. Ponson is expected to fly into New York on Friday. "It's hard to upgrade your pitching, it really is," Cashman said. "
tongue-tied lightning
What the hell do they want with Royce Clayton? He was never great to begin with, and what little talent he had before has diminished over the last 10 years to the point that I'm surprised he's even still in the majors.any chance to rid yerself of David Weathers & Kent Merker is a good thing

darkstar
I think you mean Pedro Martinez, as in reference to Babe Ruth: "I'll drill him in the ass." Too funny Wake up the Babe! The only thing funnier than that comment he made was watching him throw down Don Zimmer back in '03.
