ponch1028
so anyhow, yesterday i was at the dentist office for nearly 3 hours and over the course of the visit 3 Wilco songs were played over the office speakers, Hummingbird, California Stars, and What's the World Got in Store. It was very surreal to Hear Hummingbird as they drilled into one of my front teeth. I was wondering about everyone else ... where is the weirdest place you've heard Wilco's music played ... and you can't say a location where you or your friends played their music but rather an office, a business building, or something along those lines. HighFives
I called the government to pay for my driving ticket and while I was on hold they played theologions. I also heard Company In My Back at Sconecutter.
Mr. Tony Margaritatime
I've heard Wilco several times at Austin Grill here in DC. This doesn't quite qualify, but I've also heard Wilco and M. Ward playing in the background on "History Detectives" on PBS.

EL the Famous
where is the weirdest place you've heard Wilco's music played? I saw Cutting Crew at the Heart of Illinois Fair back in the late 80's and when they went to belt out their hit song 'I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight', 'Casino Queen' came out instead. That and I went to the Chipotle over by us the other day and Nels Cline was actually making the burritos and tacos.
Attack With Love
I think I hear a Wilco song every time I walk into Chipotle. and none of them are songs i'd expect to hear either...i've never heard anything from any of wilco's main releases, it's always stuff like Promising and When The Roses Bloom Again

Dreamin'
I think I've told this story before, but I heard an audience recording of Laminated Cat (from one of the St. Ann's Warehouse shows in 2002) playing over the speakers in the ladies room at the Fifth Avenue Cinema in Vancouver. This was before the first Loose Fur album was released. I thought I was halucinating.
jhh4321
I heard Secret of the Sea in the Gap yesterday.
Hoodoo Man
A couple of years ago I was accompanying my wife and kids to Bath & Body Works. We were cutting through White Barn Candle Company when Kamera came on. My wife kept going but I made my kids hang back with me until the song was over. The clerk looked a little nervous like he was afraid we were about to make a major candle heist.
Sir Stewart
major candle heist.I'm taking this over the band name thread.
Hoodoo Man
I'm taking this over the band name thread. I like that! I could've used that about 10 years ago when I was still a pseudo-musician.

boxfulloflecords
Heard them in Barnes & Noble, Astor Place, NYC last summer. Can't recall the song but it really didn't matter which one it was - I was so bummed that day and it just lifted my heart. It's funny, I happened to (serendipitously) take out my ear-buds yet I continued to hear Jeff's voice. I think for a moment I thought i was going crazy.
droe77
I've heard stuff from Mermaid at a couple of local Starbucks. I heard My Flying Saucer while shopping with my daughter in Toys 'R Us this weekend. I was excited, she didn't quite have a clue, but hey, I'm just hoping her little 4 month old brain could see how excited (yet puzzled) daddy was when the music came on.
