Is it true that on the Gob Iron tour, both guys will do some solo stuff and then do some Gob Iron? I was really hoping to catch one of these shows but doesn't look like it's in the cards.

Edit - Well nevermind. :P

I think the album comes out on Friday, maybe. We are seeing them at the Park West in Chicago on Sunday night. Each guy does a solo set and then they perform together. We are looking forward to seeing Jay at Park West-it's a pretty intimate venue.

Or is Jay Farrar a taboo topic here?

I think there are quite a few UT and/or Jay fans here... I pre-ordered the Gob Iron project from Amazon, and am looking forward to it.

I picked this up on Halloween and I agree it's a great album and it is along the same lines as UT's March album, but thats a good thing. Anders Parker was a member of a band called Varnaline, but now does solo work, his songs on the album kind of remind me of Billy Bragg's tracks on Mermaid Ave.

I wish they would come to the southeast for atleast one show, I hate I'm going to miss them live
