yermom
Pretty durned great, I'd say. Their "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" is an awesomely hyper take that really promotes a sense of discomfort, urgency, and nervousness that can be characteristic of "getting no satisfaction." My palms sweat just thinking of it! (Cat Power's version is a viable route as well, as one could experience a mellow sort of blueness with not getting any girl reaction. Britney Spears' cover is just all whored up and pointless.) Devo= A+++ all the way.

My palms sweat just thinking of it!Well...I'm not such a fan of this one...but to each their own However, Devo seriously rules. And anybody who can rock out with a flowerpot on their head is good in my book.
Sir Stewart
I burned out on Devo when an old roommate (from Akron) played their video retrospective ad nauseum. I respect them, but I may never be able to enjoy them again.

Ludwig Von Drake
Great place to start with Devo is to listen to their two-CD anthology collection "Pioneers Who Got Scalped." It's got those early singles and it's just a nice way to start off on the vastness that's Devo's music/ideology.
Analogman
I'm Learning To Share! (blog) . . .Devo's 4th LP, 'New Traditionalists', came out in 1981. There were new additions to the fan club merchandise being offered in the ads on the album's inner sleeve. As well as the latest crop of Devo fashion accessories, now they were hawking the 'limited edition' Muzak cassette. . . CortezTheKiller
Devo is ultimately responsible for the phrase "It's better to burn out than to fade away."

PopTodd
My 6- and 8-year-old boys were walking around all weekend; one would ask:"Are we not men?"The other would reply:"We are DEVO!!!" I'm either raising them very, very right, or very, very wrong. So much better than the general public gives them credit for.And yeah, they do belong in the HOF. the carlos
I've always been pretty crazy about them. Definitely obsessive at times. In fact my theme song is the first 41 seconds "Sloppy (I Saw My Baby Gettin')."
