Let me be the first to say that tomorrow's living room show was fantastic and everyone had a most wonderful time!

I couldn't agree more. Is is time yet? Is it time yet?

Yikes, it's to practice some songs one last time.

Looking at the photos from last year and getting really excited.

Sorry, i'm new here, but was is this Living Room Show you are talking about?

taken from the 2/17/2007 thread:

Jeff is doing three shows for a total of 90 people.

Since you mentioned it, and I was interested myself: 53% of our group has seen shows all three years they've been in existence, 30% have seen two, and the remaining saw their first basement show on Saturday.

It's a charity auction (someone will be kind enough to post a link I'm sure), and the way to get involved is pretty simple -- get thirty people together, raise as much money as you can, and win the auction!

Wow!!!!! It will be long time before the smile leaves my face.

What an amazing night listening to and playing music with Jeff and all the great musicians at the Old Town School of Folk Music's Wilco Ensemble. Everyone played their heart out. I have played with this group for two years and I have never been more proud. The music was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!. Thanks to Chandler who set up and worked the sound and made us sound so good. Jeff and the group were relaxed and had a great time. Thanks to Ken and his family for hosting and making this possible. Thanks to our fearless leader Bobby G for bringing the rock week after week. Thanks to Jeff and Sue for caring enough about their fans to want to hang out and play with us and driving into the a bad winter storm to do it.

Here is the set list I have. Any corrections are welcome We divided into small impromptu groups and individuals. Jeff played and sang on everything.

One correction....

B5 also did "No Sense In Lovin" (my personal fave). Jeff said it was so long since he played it that he had to pull out the disc and re-learn it. Spencer caught him and said: "What?? You have to learn your own songs?? That's pathetic!!" Jeff told him: "Just wait... it'll happen to you."

We also did "I'm A Wheel"

Jeff also left a capo. I know it's his because it has the number "12" painted on it, and no one in the ensemble would keep track of their capos that way. I'll bring it to Edie's show on Saturday.

ask him lots of questions about the new album. like if you are my face is lets not get carried away.

and ask him about the songbook.

and details of the spring/summer tour.

lets not get carried away will not be be on the album. last night was great sooo much fun. im very good at re-telling stories, but i think someone who was there should re-tell the nintendo wii idea he had.

Aww, c'mon, Jack. You should tell it. This was after we were well into the night and ignited the only Jeff/Sue "confrontation".

i thought it was hilarious that dave pitched in with legal advice about disclosure of intellectual property and jeff said, that's ok is should be public domain, but you can be my lawyer, right?

in any case, i think the wii story came up as the sleets (the band formerly known as the barnyard pimps) were setting up. it made me think, wow, jeff really fits in with our band. this is exactly the kind of thing we talk about when we get together to rehearse. :cheers the guys were definitely excited about screaming the last lyrics of kicking television along with jeff. :yay

anyway, the entire night was amazing, and i really enjoyed being the only female playing with the loudest group of the night . so a few highlights from this particular set:

and i think toby loved the fact that jeff asked "is that a real english accent?" when toby confirmed that his accent is the real deal, jeff said something like, "oh man, you guys brought in a real english rock star for this thing? what, are you actually a member of blur or something?" :rock

so we put our best guitar player on drums for this set and he kicked out a great drum solo on let's not get carried away.

mike rocked the bass big time and toby, dave and jeff worked beautifully together on guitar.

unfortunately, with the quick switch from piano to guitar i didn't turn up my volume on the hard rockin version of someone else's song, so i didn't get to throw in the tremelo stuff, but it was still crazy fun.

i had a great time banging on the piano on kicking television.

anyway, thanks again to ken for hosting, to jeff and sue of course for being so cool, and to bob for bringing us all together and being the ultimate song-figurin'-out ninja.

finally,

last year i was a little to intimidated to talk to jeff, but i got to chat with him a bit this year. he was really nice and down to earth and seems like such a smart and thoughtful guy. i think he actually had fun hanging out with us. he seemed to get a kick out of the fact that we all get together and just play music and try to figure out the little details of his tunes and we totally have a blast doing it.

it was nice to have a chance to tell him that his music means a lot to us, and that we are blown away that he would actually come and hang out with us and put up with playing with us amateurs. we've spent many hours together working on this music and it's has brought us together as a group, so the fact that jeff would spend time with us means a lot to us on many levels.

you guys are incredible. it was an honor to be there to play with jeff, and it's always an honor to play with all of you. :cheekkiss
