bobbob1313
A tip of the cap to the Marlins for a well-played series.Indeed. Good win for you guys today. I'm perfectly content with taking 2 of 3 from in New York, especially after you guys came in our house and beat us down a few weeks back. We could've won today if somebody had mentioned to Perez that it wasn't 2003, and he should stop pitching as such. We made him look damn good today. We seem to have real trouble against lefties. Have since last season. I wonder why that is?
bjorn_skurj
I think Oliver Perez has a decent chance to be the first Mets pitcher to throw a no-hitter. (While in a Mets uniform; see Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver and Dwight Gooden.) Thanks and praise be to Rick Peterson, who might be as good as Mazzone.

He's good, and he's done a good job with the pen, but you guys still have a pretty bad rotation that is helped alot by some good defense (not to mention the offense.) Perez has a shot at a no hitter, but it'll be of the AJ Burnett type (high walk total).
cryptique
John Kruk thinks the Pirates will be in first place at the end of the month of May. John Kruk is silly.I saw Kruk tonight for the first time in a while. Do you think they'll have to cut him out of that NutriSystem ad now? Damn.

J Beckett (W, 6-0) IP: 7.0 H: 6 R: 3 K: 7 Nice game. Remy was cracking me up when he was doing that promo for Fenway. Talking about how you can rent it for functions etc. Said it's a great place for a wedding or other affairs then he starts laughing like a bastard. So glad MLB came to it's senses and I can now watch extra innings on cable instead of a dish. Got any predictions for Dice-K tonight?

Chris_H_2
My God, I looked at yesterday's starting lineup for the White Sox and each player's batting average . . . and to say that it's shockingly horrible would be an understatement.
Duck-Billed Catechist
They're last in the league in hitting. It's sad. They need Thome back. They also need Dye, Konerko, and Crede to really start hitting.

bobbob1313
Not much better in the world than free tickets to a baseball game. But you can enchance that by eating ice cream out of a mini helmet while your team hits back to back opposite field homers to win the game.
