solace
looks like Low is cancelling a short west coast run (tix were already onsale) to open the tour... sucks for west coast Low fans

Wendy
looks like Low is cancelling a short west coast run (tix were already onsale) to open the tour... sucks for west coast Low fans Yikes! I guess they really want this opening gig with Wilco (and can you blame them?) I was contemplating a drive to Detroit next week to see them perform at the Majestic, but now I think I won't. But Mimi Parker's voice --
Hixter
Carla Bozulich's website say that she'll be opening at some of the European shows. I think I need to dig out my passport and credit card.

Edie
Still won't be able to make ANY of these Scheduling issues and also saving for an October trip to France with the family. Jeff, if you are reading this, a nice 3 to 5-night run at the Vic sometime this summer would be awesome. I'll be your best friend
TCP
This is the worst news ever. Now I am extra hurt they're not playing Vancouver. Jeff Tweedy... you've broken my heart.
M. (hristine
You guys realize that these dates just run through the end of July right? Do you really think the Wilcos are going to take the rest of the year off or something?
Edie
Yes but Davenport and Indy could be same night things (no overnight stay) and I can't make either of them
LouieB
You can see Low headline at the Metro Friday April 13 with Lonely, Dear and maybe somebody else opening.wow, you are really keeping track of this stuff. I really should go see them there. Do I have plans that night??You guys realize that these dates just run through the end of July right? Do you really think the Wilcos are going to take the rest of the year off or something? They are going to book in for the entire month of August at the Vic to help boost Chicago rock tourism.... M. (hristine
They are going to book in for the entire month of August at the Vic to help boost Chicago rock tourism.... LouieBI just tell my mom, "It's like travelling to NY to see an off Broadway play, or to Florida for spring training. Or Vegas or the Grand Canyon". I guess I am preaching to the choir, though. She saw Vince Gill 4 times one year.

Wendy
wow, you are really keeping track of this stuff. I really should go see them there. Do I have plans that night?? LouieB I don't know! But like I said, I love Low and so therefore I had them on my calendar for next week (if I could swing a mid-week Detroit road trip, after just doing a Chicago road trip for Son Volt & Jason Isbell ) and had noticed a Chicago show. But I'm busy that night (Yo La Tengo in Indy at The Vogue ). I have seen Low before and they were mesmerizing, experimental slo-core. But they have less slo-core on this new CD, and The Great Destroyer was less so as well. Mimi stands and plays a little drum kit and shares lead and backing vocals with husband Alan. They have a bass player, and then Alan Sparhawk on lead guitar and vocals. They were headliners at the Grog Shop in Cleveland 1 or 2 years ago, so people in the audience were there to see Low. Hopefully Wilco fans will keep happy hour out in the lobby bar instead of drowning out Low with the "let's chat during the opening band" thing. But it looks like a lot of us VC'ers are Low fans as well.
Edie
Have fun tonight. You know I do act like a spoiled brat sometimes about this stuff... here I am complaining that I can't get to see them later this summer, and I am seeing Jeff tonight! And taking the hubby!
