I've been trying to remember it and couldn't... Thank ya kindly!! I wonder why it was cut, I really do like the song and it would have fit on Skye Blue Skye
W(TF)
I wonder why it was cut, I really do like the song and it would have fit on Skye Blue Skye No idea why... but, SBS is pretty much "perfect" as is. (I'd like to hear the rest of the song tho, mebbe it would've been a great fit) Tweedy says they put a lot of effort into the album song sequencing.... and he also sez they have so much unreleased stuff in the pipe, he can't even keep track of it all. Eventually you have to cut some stuff.
caliber66
Skye Blue Skye I liked her in "Say Anything."

Eventually you have to cut some stuff. it doesn't explain why he allowed Lets Not Get Carried Away (What Light 7" b-side) to be released (cliched, tired, derivative; the latest lineup's Casino Queen), instead of say, The Thanks I Get. even allowing for differences in taste, surely he wouldn't prefer LNGCA to TTIG? or when WEA asked for a new b-side, maybe he just lifted the first master tape at hand? Mr. Kinsley
They actually have a song titled Let's Not Get Carried Away? From the same album session that they did Let's Fight? I wonder what other goodies they have that we haven't seen; Let's Not Be Too Hasty or Let's Get Mildly Disgruntled.
honestgabe
I actually found a copy of Let Not Get Carried Away from some podcast, I have to edit the song out, but its pretty good.
Mr. Heartbreak
Or you could just buy it from iTunes for a buck, like I did.

I think Let's Fight would have fit into the SBS songs... but maybe the next record..I like LNGCA, it's more rockin' and wouldn't have fit into SBS, but maybe the next record...I'd love to hear Let's Fight live and see the guitar work on this song... Just as I'd love to hear Wishful Thinking live... One day, one show, I will...
lisa
Just in case anyone missed this one, "Let's not get carried away" live version from last fall's 9:30 Club (Washington, DC) on/or close to Froggie's bday features the best drum solo I've ever heard (including Bill Kreutzman and Micky Hart's dueling drum solos) from Mr. Glenn Kotche. You can check it out via NPR's archives .... It's about 1 1/2 minutes of percussion perfection ...
giraffo
haha, I think they should change the lyrics to the songs...the tone and lyrics of Let's Not Get Carried Away fit Let's Fight better. Picture Jeff singing the lyrics of Let's Fight to the tune of LNGCA...it also seems more appropriate that a song called Let's Fight would end with a drum solo that embodies the actual act of a fist fight.
