stooka Posted October 7, 2007 Share Posted October 7, 2007 It's, uh, weird to watch the changes through the years. Indeed, the 1970's "Jumpsuit Pete" is by far my favorite era for The Who. The 70s had begun and the Who were the most powerful thing going. Pete's songwriting branches out even further, taking the rock opera idea of A Quck One While He's Away to the 3 Lp epic Tommy . The concept album idea allowed space for instrumentals and operatic structure. The earlier, better versions of Sparks show the more hungry Pete, '75 started the fast decline, the 80s was a joke and the later ones showed Pete coping out on acoustic and desperate to muster-up the past in the final and most recent version.
