hummingBERG
I wish that Jeff Tweedy and Ryan Adams would write and album together. Hell, even just one song. Reply with your thoughts on that duo or any other unlikely combo's you'd love to see come to fruition. This should be - but is not limited to - living musicians. GtrPlyr
I don't think either one would bring much to the other's music to be honest. Maybe during the Being There days they may have had some common ground, not so much now though.
thermocaster
How about Tweedy and Richard Patrick?
Atticus
this is a thread about live combos, FYI. I mean that in an un-you-could-post-this-somewhere-else kind of way.
kathyp
I'll probably get a good smackdown for this one, but...Tweedy and the Grateful Dead, or whatever's left of them.
aricandover
I'll probably get a good smackdown for this one, but...Tweedy and the Grateful Dead, or whatever's left of them. I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff hook up with Phil and Friends (heck, Phil played with Wilco once or twice)
What Light?
I wish that Jeff Tweedy and Ryan Adams would write and album together. Do not ruin Jeff's career like that...............and I see know reason to make Ryan Adams legit either..............
hummingBERG
First of all - I am a Wilco forum rookie that just got a profile on here today... So, woops and sorry about the re:post topic in the first place (AtticusPoonGoggler). I will try to search better before I start a new thread next time. However, my reply to some of the responses are.... If you ever listen to Ryan Adams and the Cardinals live in their more raw state you would hear more of the similarities between them and Wilco (especially in the current incarnation). I do recognize that "album wise" Ryan Adams' production is far more polished. There are also several comparisons to the Grateful Dead everywhere these days, mostly due to sky blue sky's, production and songwriting. So yeah that would be amazing. Ryan has toured with Phil and Friends and Phil Lesh the legendary Bassist of the Grateful Dead has said that Ryan Adams has the most soul out of anyone he's ever played with besides the late Jerry Garcia. I know every single Wilco fan can relate to Tweedy's level of musical and spiritual soul. This is more of what I was talking about in the first place. Thanks for responding to all of you, as again this was my first thread.
LouieB
There are so many great musicans and songwriters that Jeff is close to and would make great music with it is hard to conceive of any reason to do anything with Ryan Adams. I am waiting for the Califone and/ or Handsome Family collaboration myself. LouieB

mountain bed
Hey Hummingberg, you should try a thread search here. I read a thing on here once--'Adams vs. Tweedy Celebrity Death Match' that was funny as hell.
tongue-tied
i think the flaming lips and beck should play some shows.
DAngerer09
They did back when Beck released Sea Change. They played on Austin City Limits together and it was great.
Stefanie
yes, and it is mentioned in the flaming lips song "thank you jack white (for the fiber optic jesus)

rareair
i think the flaming lips and beck should play some shows. i think i have a sessions at 54th street with beck backed by the lips during odelay days.
DawgSong
Just maybe RA could show JT how improv, tempo change and rearranging song structure make the live show even better. The 6 or show Wilco shows over the last 18 months or so I've seen WHILE great are still pretty much the same.
Sir Stewart
i think i have a sessions at 54th street with beck backed by the lips during odelay days.I have that, but it was his own band - Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, etc.
Atticus
So, woops and sorry about the re:post topic in the first place (AtticusPoonGoggler). I was only pointing out the other thread as a point of interest, and I specifically stated that I was not telling you that your thread belonged somewhere else.
Calexico
I am waiting for the Handsome Family collaboration myself. LouieB OMG, as teenage girls say. That would be awesome in it's freakness. Brett's deep voice, counterpointed by a high lonesome Ryan and all topped off with some of Rennie's blood filled lyrics. That would ,like, rule.
Chendizzle
Ehh, collabs rarely produce anything that special anyways.
rareair
I have that, but it was his own band - Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, etc. thanks. that makes a lot of sense. its really good, but i was always disappointed that wayne never sang on it.
markosis
Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, and Robbie Robertson together would be nice. It'll never happen.
