jenbobblehead
hey, who would have thought that Mets fans would love the red sox so much? After quite a crappy day, i went to the first five innings of the Mets game (incredible box seats on the first base line--almost literally that i'll be taking advantage of again next season) and just had a great time. Every time the red sox score changed, there was a big cheer, and even some Green Monster Signs. I don't usually care for the goofy sh*t but the apple that comes up and the dunkin cup that goes 'round when a HR is hit is pretty funny.

But thats beside the point, I am loving this historical meltdown.

bobbob1313
Well, here is your medal for being right. Congratulations. I hope you enjoy it when Willis is pitching for us next year! Enjoy his 5+ era for $12 million a year. He'll fit right in on the Mets staff. (For the record, I hate the Phillies almost as much as I hate the Mets, but I kind of like Chase Utley, and I hate David Wright so I'd rather the Phillies win, I think)
bjorn_skurj
For the record, I am going to see the Mets play the Marlins tomorrow.

bjorn_skurj
I believe Willie will be out of a job pretty soon.Lupica apparently said that on FAN today. It's not entirely Willie's fault, but somebody's gotta go after something like this, and it's not going to be Minaya ... this year.
boywiththorninside
Baseball Prospectus - Biggest Collapses According to the article above, if the Mets miss the playoffs, it will be the second biggest collapse ever. I really can't believe what's happening to this team.
bjorn_skurj
It's not really that stunning. Old-ass and young starters who can't even be counted on to go six most nights + bullpen lacking rubber-armed innings eaters = late-season collapse. Delgado being a big giant hole in the middle of the lineup didn't help either, nor did the rash of outfield injuries. Still, it's not over until it's over, as the Cardinals proved last year. Spawn's dad
While I wish I could vibe the Mets home for Bjorn's sake I have a friend who is such a douche of a met's fan I have to pray with fervor that they completely detonate.

tongue-tied lightning
how much fun will this weekend be, and stressful ! No Duke killed the Mets this September.Glavine falling apart too. Reyes second half falter really didn't hurt them that much.
jenbobblehead
dear orioles:if you don't roll over for the yankees this weekend, and actually win a game or two*, i will stop calling camden yards "fenway south," for next season. *you have to win two games against the yankees in order for me to comply with this. if you only win one, then i will just not call it fenway south until January of next year. Spawn's dad
you guys can have the division and the angels in the first round, thank you very much. it's impossible to believe the mets are really this big of a train wreck.
