PigSooie
For the sake of H-Bomb Henry's potential reaction, I hope it is possible.OMG! Me too!
Duck-Billed Catechist
I've heard that the Pats are shopping that pick so they can get more picks further down. That seems likely to fit their organizational style.

MattZ
Hmm, that's really a pretty common strategy. Oh sure, I know it's pretty common to trade down for more picks. But not when a stud like McFadden is staring a team in the face. It's hard to convince a fanbase to pass up a chance at a sexy name like that... It is so much easier to make the consensus pick. McFadden would certainly be the consensus there, right? Teams trade down, but I don't think it happens that often when they are staring at a consensus pick. So I meant it more as a statement that the Pats are great because they stick to their guns and very rarely will do the conventional thing. They are more disciplined in this respect than any team that I can remember. Cutting guys like Ty Law and Lawyer Milloy weren't popular but they did it anyway. It hurt them last year by not surrounding Brady with decent receivers... As a general matter though, it works brilliantly for them. They've got a gameplan and they stick to it and it's why they are so good. Brady and Moss help too.  EDIT: Houston went against the grain taking Mario over Bush... and in retrospect that seems to be the right call. No way the Saints were going to trade down with Bush sitting there. Unless someone offered a Herschell Walker-type deal. And no one was going to do that. In hindsight, they probably should have traded down. I am impressed if the Pats do - although I agree that McFadden doens't have the same cache as Bush.

H-Bomb Henry
You really, really have a hard-on for the Patriots, huh?Yes, I'm sorry. It all stems from Jan 2004. I had to spend 6 weeks in New Hampshire for work. I'm not a diehard Colts fan but I received so much heckling and abuse from from co-workers there after the Colts lost in the AFC championship. It made me become a Patriot hater. It's a shame that years later I found out that they were cheating. Yes I hate everything New England much like Red Sox fans hate everything Yankee. Take most of my posts in stride I mean most in a sarcastic tone on the subject.
So Long
I've been a Pats fan since 1993. Went through the first superbowl lost, 1996, and then got to the victories. Thank god I stayed on board. --- Anywho, anybody find it ironic that Bill Parcells is the VP of the Dolphins now...dolphins get caught in tuna nets....
bobbob1313
If the Pats pass up on McFadden, they'll be idiots. Â Maroney's a nice, middle of the road (at best) back. McFadden might well be the best back in the league in 2 years.

Sir Stewart
I hated Mike Ditka for saying the Patriots didn't deserve to be on the same field as the Bears that game. Now I know he was fookin right.

So Long
haha. Yeah, I was -3 years old (?) in 1985, so I never mention that one. Although when I was a kid I met Andre Tippet and repeatedly something to the affect off "I'm really sorry you lost the Super Bowl"...I was such a little shit head, with the best intentions. darkstar
I was in college in Vermont at the time of that Super Bowl. Started out pretty good then BAM! Add to that the debacle of the 1986 Red Sox meltdown in thw WS and it was some bleak times for Boston Fans. Of course the Celts won the NBA that year so all was not lost. Now some 20 years later things are looking very good for Beantown teams.

H-Bomb Henry
Over/under on how long before H-Bomb Henry attempts to convince everyone that the establishment/refs gave the game to the Pats? I shouldn't have to convince anyone outside of New england. Play of the game had to be the 15 yard unsportsmanlike on Toomer. N.E player taunts Giants sideline and trips over his own feet therefore 15 yard penalty on Toomer.  I don't think the officiating was the real question. The real question is will Bill Simmons write an article about how Brady is a stats/record whore much like he did Peyton in 2004. I'm saying no....wouldn't be the New England way.
