kimcatch22
The Riv is kind of run down, which isn't a big deal I guess, but I have never liked the mosh-pit type area up front. It can get almost dangerous down there. And if you don't get there early, finding a spot where you can actually see the stage is a challenge. It's really the only venue in this size, though, which is obviously what they were shooting for (maybe for a DVD?). Smaller than the Auditorium, Aragon or The Chicago Theatre, but bigger than the Vic, Metro and Park West. Not complaining, just not my favorite venue. They also have a lousy sound system. When I saw Rilo Kiley there in September there was feedback at multiple points in the show, and the sound can be kind of muffled. Hopefully the venue will get it right for these shows... NoOneKnowsMe
The Tribune said they will be playing every song the band has ever recorded. I highly doubt that. Anybody else with me?

You can see the stage from about 75% of the venue. The sell the space behind the bar on the back of the floor which ends up becoming an area that people stand around and chat. If you don't like the pit, the first rail back is a nice spot. Most of the balcony is ok, except for the top. Jam Productions has been reserving the front four rows of the balcony for their guests and band guests lately. As for the mosh-pit, I only find Wilco mosh-pits dangerous when Louie B is there! nalafej
It is not a matter of how much time they have. If they want to play every song, they could, but does the band really want to play Old Maid, Just a Kid, Dash 7, Dreamer in my Dreams...
NoOneKnowsMe
Nope. They have five nights. They can do it.I'm not being a naysayer, but that includes every b-side, cover, song on a compilation there is. I'd love for them to play "Student Loan Stereo", but do you really think they'll do "Let Me Come Home" or "Diamond Claw"?

Edie
Because of seating? It says it holds 2500 but it sure feels smaller. Anyway, Wilco has proven to sell out fast here -- within minutes.
kimcatch22
It's bigger than the VIC? Really?? It sure doesn't feel that way.The Vic's capacity is 1400 (1000 seated) and the Riv is about 2500. I doubt they will do every b-side, but every album song and that includes Mermaid Avenues I bet and whatever b-side they feel. That sucks. Maybe some(me!) will be able to catch a break. Saturday night will be the hardest to get. Which is the one I want to go to.

NoOneKnowsMe
I really don't think it will be that hard to get tickets, if you are online when they go on sale. They never are. The Vic, for 4 nights, when people knew it was being filmed, recorded, was not terrible if you were online at the right time. This time, it is 12,500 tickets, same amount as Millennium Park (roughly). I know some will go multiple/all 5 nights, but it will sell out quickly. But if you are online at the right time, there shouldn't be any issues.
Madcap
Has anyone seen anything on presale passwords for Wedensday and/or Friday???
Guest Jules
I've got a feeling there are going to be many more people that want to go than will be able to Really? 5 nights at 2500 people per = 12,500 total tickets. I doubt THAT many people will be buying the 5-night package on the pre-sale, and I wouldn't think it would be too hard to get tickets for at least one night. They sold out 2 nights at the Auditorium (capacity ~4000) last Thanksgiving. So, this is a step up in terms of capacity. I would imaging the Friday, Saturday shows would be quick sellouts. Not so sure on the Monday thru Wednesday.
tangara
Also, there are two presale chances to get the 5-night package. So hopefully they won't be too hard to get. How amazing would it be if they did all their recorded material? I would probably fall over.

How amazing would it be if they did all their recorded material? I would probably fall over. If you are buying the 5-night package, I think you wont have any problem with tickets. I dont expect most people to go all 5 nights. I wish I had the time to do it. Its a time issue for me.
