blindgonzo
I just saw SuperBad last night and I thought it was hilarious!! I was pretty dissapointed with Knocked Up, so this one made up for it.
sureshot
I saw Control last nite....awww man soo good. Depressing, but damn good. Think it just captured my #1 spot for the year.
oatmealblizzard
I plan on seeing There Will Be Blood tomorrow (really looking forward to that one), then maybe a couple more over the next few days. Only then will I be able to post my list. When the dust has cleared on 2007, though, I think this will rank right up there with the best movie years in recent memory. I've really enjoyed a lot of stuff this year. Listing 'em will be a challenge.
airtaco
So basically There Will Be Blood is only playing in NYC and LA until Friday, when it opens up in some cities?
Big Perm
yeah, quite frustrating, there were some midnight sneaks in selected cities this past Saturday, but I'm foaming at the mouth for a second go round of this, why it's not everywhere is lame-o-rama
the carlos
It's driving me a little crazy.
Big Perm
i was spoiled rotten in LA cause everything was playing all the time somewhere, i really wish they would add more cities to this limited release whatnot, or just put the fooker out there for all the kids to witness
the carlos
We live in a smallish town which doesn't help but we have 20 or so screens between two theaters. The smaller (formerly a Wherenberg Theater) plays better pictures overall. With There Will Be Blood I'm willing to drive to Phoenix.
Big Perm
it's worth driving to Alaska
the carlos
it's worth driving to AlaskaI was seriously considering driving to L.A. That's just not an option though. No time.
Beltmann
Platform releases suck--and don't make sense any more, either, with the way buzz now spreads in nanoseconds rather than weeks. As a Wisconsinite, I'm used to having to wait to see things until long after the national discussion about them has ebbed (especially international fare that opens here six months to a year after they were released in NY/LA). At least There Will Be Blood is scheduled for Milwaukee release on January 11... I assume that's when most other cities will have it, too.
John Smith
I didn't read this whole thread, so i don't know if it was mentioned or not, but I think Hot Rod was one of the better movies I saw this year. Completely goofball, but funny and charming in its own way
Guest David Puddy
I think Hot Rod was one of the better movies I saw this year. there were a handful of very funny lines, but come on, this movie was, overall, painful to watch.
jmacomber68w
The glow in the dark miniature golf place that is in the same center as that theater is lame. i went to a place like that in CT with some friends a few months back, we walked out. 18 holes in enough space to hold 3 on an outdoors course, pathetic
airtaco
Just saw Sweeny Todd and it was great. I had never seen the musical and I must say I was blown away by the songs! Great melodies! It was visually stunning, had great performances and was just a fun story. SPOILER The person I saw it with said in the musical version Sweeny also kills his daughter. Is this true? I don't know about ST. I can't seem to wrap my head around Depp singing. I know he sings well but it is coming off weird to me. One thing I can say for it though, It has got to be better than National Treasure 2. I recommend waiting till video for this one. It was a huge disappointment.
