eddiedillon839
I would be happy with just a live web broadcast.
froggie
I would be happy with just a live web broadcast. its been pretty common lately so i wouldnt be surprised if one or so shows are broadcast
lost highway
I imagine a Brendan Canty shot feature that would have that high grade digital/nice colors look he gets. It would feature five nights at the Riv split up the shows and the sets to get everything from Casino Queen to Forget the Flowers to Pieholden Suite to Reservations etc. Lots of backstage footage/interviews exploring the bands musical phases and life on the road. More personality from the mysterious Pat Sansone and Mikael Jorgensen. Glenn Kotche making jokes with their deli tray while he tapes up his fingers. John Stiratt being super mellow and friendly to the road crew. Nels putting on giant striped socks. Then maybe some Australia footage, Tweedy singing Please Be Patient With Me to a Koala.............. Anyone seeing this?
DAngerer09
I can't wait to hear live versions of Please Be Patient With Me and Leave Me Like You Found Me. I want to see how well they can pull these off.
Lemsky
They should release some footage from the european tour as extra/bonuse feature....
jff
I remember reading something about Jeff saying there "wasn't enough of the audience" featured in the filming. He felt that it didn't capture the event well, or something along those lines. I read that, too. But I also remember reading something about Jeff saying the DVD showed too many audience members with dumb slogans and product logos on their t-shirts.
DAngerer09
Must have been a bunch of people wearing Son Volt t-shirts.
Wilco Worshipper
I can't wait to hear live versions of Please Be Patient With Me and Leave Me Like You Found Me. I think I'd pass out... Must have been a bunch of people wearing Son Volt t-shirts.
HighFives
> I doubt the guys want to wear the same clothes for 5 straight nights just like when led zeppelin filmed 3 shows at MSG for the song remains the same video - john paul jones seemed to have changed his outfit a couple of times during the "show" wasn't there a wilco vid where John keeps taking off and on his jacket or something? Lemsky
I read that, too. But I also remember reading something about Jeff saying the DVD showed too many audience members with dumb slogans and product logos on their t-shirts.really ?
jff
really ? I can't remember where I read that, but I think his concern was that those logos would trap the music into a particular time period associated with whatever slogans or logos people were wearing, when I guess they're going for something that feels timeless. entropy
Five DVDs, companion soundtrack. In 50 of the packages are golden tickets. The band plays in my living room, and invites me to tour and I publish "It's Just That Simple" the next great novel detailing a mid level band struggling with their own limitations in the harsh face of stardom. Lemsky
They could release another live album and a live dvd to cover all the nights of this residency,i think it's the best way to represent these great shows
keeprighton2
Would imagine it will be 25 or so songs released as a DVD - the band's pick of material from the five nights roughly the length of one concert - then a second disc with extras/interviews etc
Guest Jules
I hope they play the same basic setlist every night with a few oldies thrown in here and there, just so I can read all the whining on here.
watchtower41
I hope they play the same basic setlist every night with a few oldies thrown in here and there, just so I can read all the whining on here. That's nice... bitter someone didn't score tickets?
Guest Jules
That's nice... bitter someone didn't score tickets?Nope, I'll be there. Sorry, bad day yesterday. Though I would be an ass for a minute.
mfwahl
wasn't there a wilco vid where John keeps taking off and on his jacket or something?that's the video for kicking television, which just goes to show you how hard it would be to do a 5 day DVD. With no repeats they'd have to nail every video shot once through. I'd be happpy with a single camera unedited though
Guest Jules
So, has anyone received the 5-day pass through musictoday? I'm still curious if it is one ticket/pass or separate show tickets (like the ticketmaster 5-day).
