calvino
Not sure if this came up before, though I did a quick search, Tweedy is supposed to be on XRT on 2/12/08 at 10pm on the The Eclectic Company show.

nalafej
I heard an ad for this on xrt this morning and it sounded pretty funny. Sounds like a must listen.
WaronWar
Yeah, I'll be listening in. Here's the link to the stream of their station: http://www.wxrt.com/pages/1594158.php By the way, here's a description of what guest hosts usually do (from the website): "The Eclectic Company is a truly unique listening experience, with each host playing his or her choice of favorite recordings, selected specifically from their personal collections, and sharing experiences and insights with the audience. The spontaneous, intimate setting of the show gives the audience a rare glimpse into the music scene, as well as the lives of some of their favorite performers. When M. Ward was asked some of his favorite things in Pitchfork, he responded " The first one that comes to mind is Eclectic Company on WXRT in Chicago. Great format, great radio station."" So it sounds pretty cool.

LouieB
Well I didn't stay awake for this. Is there a simple (for us simpletons) way to download this?? Podcast, etc? I can check myself, but just busy today on the road. (The Who fronted by a Japanese school girl was part of a promo...was that the most interesting thing said??) bböp
Well I didn't stay awake for this. Is there a simple (for us simpletons) way to download this?? Podcast, etc? I can check myself, but just busy today on the road. (The Who fronted by a Japanese school girl was part of a promo...was that the most interesting thing said??) They have it available for download in 10 parts on that link. It's just Jeff and Jon Langford talking, though. Not the music itself-guess there are rights issues with that. Anyway, my favorite story Jeff told was about meeting John Cale once and how he looked like Richard Simmons. Ha!
misterjon
just an fyi to everone....i'm recording this now (the stream) and will post the link to d/l the entire show asap. giddyup! Would love to hear that stream! I've only heard the interview segments which are available for download. Listening to them is an exercise in frustration (although entertaining frustration.) Please post when your recording is available, and thanks for doing this.
misterjon
Ghotiphan4398, any chance of posting the recording you made? I know everyone's attention is on the Residency Shows, but I'd still love to hear this. Thanks!
Guest Alan
awesome to see that he played Deerhoof and Fairport Convention.
mfwahl
Sucks they don't have the songs on the stream. Sounds like some of those are hard to find. It would be sweet if a blog would do a tweedy eclectic company themed post with all the tracks.
