Analogman
That's bullshit - you can a digital copy for free. It was suppose to be re-released - but it has not happened yet.
tangara
Correction, Gary Louris is at the Metro on Friday night, not schubas, sorry! If anyone goes, fill us in! thanks! I'll be there...full report to follow!

I was more or less just saying that I would be willing to pay for it.
Analogman
I may have had it once upon a time. I was more or less just saying that I would be willing to pay for it. I meant the $199 record album deal - I have never paid over 20 bucks for a record album, and I never will.
Happiechick
Hey Hoback - Did you get your name from that amazing area south of Grand Teton? Sure did! Lived there and miss it like I miss the Jayhawks!!
Maggie
I only just started listening to The Jayhawks about a year ago but they're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. I'm sorry I missed out on them while they were still playing together. Does anyone know if their catalog has gone out of pressing? I bought a copy of Tomorrow the Green Grass new in a store about a year ago and since then I've only been able to find used copies of the other records. Even amazon.com has next to nothing in stock (Blue Earth is the only one they've got)!
LouieB
Try looking for used copies on Amazon. I am sure some will be there. Yep, all of them are including a couple live CDs that were sold at shows. (edit number two..in fact some of the titles are selling for ridiculously cheap. I guess the Jayhawks are not much in demand any more..... ) LouieB
Analogman
Gary talks about the first album and other Jayhawks releases in the new issue of No Depression - seems like it has to do with some legal issues concerning Rick Rubin and Lost Highway.

At least the used ones are cheap.
H.Stone
Yeah, I've been buying used copies through amazon.com sellers. I was just hoping I could get new copies somehow. At least the used ones are cheap. I occasionally see new HTH and TTGG at stores, but I rarely see the others. I wish Gary was coming through Milwaukee--there are plenty of venues he could pull off. I also saw he canceled his show at The Fillmore.

Of course, it's in pounds rather than dollars and I looked to see if you could have it delivered to the US (couldn't find anything about that), but if you want a new copy I guess it would be worth checking out. allgodsmoney
I think The Jayhawks, Early Son Volt, Early Wilco and Uncle Tupelo go hand in hand! I feel like each one is a piece of this giant alt-country-rock puzzle. Like peanut butter'n jelly! Probably why I'm into wilco now...Replacements lead me to Golden Smog (Chris Mars). I got into Soul Asylum, Jayhawks, Wilco, Run Westy Run, and Iffy. (UT). I actually saw the Replacements last show in Minneapolis. The opening band were the local heros The Geardadies. At the Geardadies"last show" at a fairgrounds in Austin MN. We saw UT, Run Wesy, Honey Dogs and the Jayhawks play at that muddy sloppy show. After that I saw as many GS, Jayhawks, and Iffy shows I could see.I guess the same goes with WILCO. Minnesota was pretty cool place at that time.

How about, "I wanna drive a zambonie!!!" GearDaddies, too funny, brings back LOTS o good college memories! Some of those UT/Wilco tunes remind me so much of the Jayhawks...New Madrid, Hesitating Beauty, ETC. Oh and, Austin- ! And Honey Dogs!!!! I say we have our own music festival at my parents farm with that entire line-up...minus UT, not big on JF's voice.
Analogman
September (5,6 or 7- date TBA) - VITORIA, SPAIN - Azkena Rock FestivalThe 94/95 era Jayhawks (Gary Louris, Mark Olson, Marc Perlman, Tim O'Reagan and Karen Grotberg) will be performing a one-off show at the Azkena Rock Festival. Analogman
Mark Olson - The Salvation Blues - TrailerThis is the trailer for Ray Foley's Mark Olson documentary 'The Salvation Blues,' shot during Mark's 2007 residency in NYC. Has anyone see this?
Scalzunfield
I'd like to say my love for the Jayhawks has grown over the years, but that would be a lie. Like Lucinda, their old stuff is some pretty awesome stuff but everything in the last ten years is pretty average. Now, I can't speak for Mark's solo stuff as I've never heard it (never been particularly interested) but Gary's new solo stuff (and Golden Smong stuff) is pretty yawn-inducing and I can't think of anything better than maybe re-kindling some old magic. I'd love to see that show in Spain but I somehow doubt I'll make it.
Analogman
I just heard Vagabonds - didn't care for it. I am looking forward to hearing the album he and Mark made.
uncool2pillow
Salvation Blues is a MUCH better album than Vagabonds IMO. Rainy Day Music is the only decent post-Olson Jayhawks album, but it's a great one.
