zebra
Thanks. I checked his site, but only saw CA dates. I hope he adds more.
mountain bed
Damn Kyle you're lucky. I'd love to see those guys in Indy. Won't ever happen.
Three dollars and 63 cents
I'm seeing them three times in the next few months--two sets at the Jazz Standard in three weeks (on a bill with the Scott Amendola Band), then in Chicago in June. I'm really looking forward to getting to see them. Scott Amendola's Myspace page shows they're doing a nine or ten day tour of the Midwest in early June, then going to Europe for about ten days in July. I haven't seen specific dates for either one yet. Scarnella is also on the bill for the Montreal show, I believe. It's part of a big experimental music festival. I'm really tempted to make the trip up to Montreal for that show, but with as many times as I'm seeing the Singers and Wilco in the first half of this year, Nels is probably already going to think I'm stalking him
VenusStopsTrain2
lol no more then nels will think i'm stalking him if we count wilco shows this year alone... feb - riv one night - wilcomar - val air one night - wilcomay - st louis 3 nights - wilcojune - chicago 1 night - nels cline singers
WaronWar
Does anyone know if they are playing in WI? I am just hoping to try and catch the Singers at a place where there is no 21+ age limit.
Three dollars and 63 cents
From Scott Amendola's Myspace page: Jun 1 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers @ The Dakota Bar Minneapolis, MinnesotaJun 2 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers@ High Noon Saloon Madison, WisconsinJun 3 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers@ Martyr

WaronWar
From Scott Amendola's Myspace page: Jun 2 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers@ High Noon Saloon Madison, Wisconsin I confess I'm checking driving distances between the shows on June 2-5 I just checked High Noon Saloon's webpage and it's 18 and up. Hell yes! I am so driving to Madison that day.
Three dollars and 63 cents
I'm thinking of heading to Ann Arbor after Chicago. I can take the train, and two nights there will cost me what one night would in Chicago, so it won't make my vacation much more expensive.
mountain bed
Jun 4 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers@ The Jazz Kitchen Indianapolis, IndianaWow. I guess I'll eat the words of my previous post. This is great news!
bböp
Jun 6 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers @ The Paramount Charlottesville, North CarolinaJun 8 2008 8:00P The Nels Cline Singers @ La Sala Rossa Montreal Charlottesville sure is strange. Definitely strange since it's in Virginia. That is a pretty bearish drive from Virginia to Montreal, though. They do have an off-day in between, but I'm guessing a lot of that will be spent in the car/van.
deepseacatfish
I think I may try and make it to the Minneapolis show, but I'll have to see what things look like, my May-early June is nuts
solace
the Minneapolis show(s) (they added a late 9:30 show that is $10 cheaper!) are now on sale: http://www.instantseats.com/index.cfm?fuse...amp;VenueID=218 scored a front and center table for the late show. guessing they'll be somewhat similiar shows, and for $35, i'll be happy to see just the 2nd one

I think Indy is doing 2 shows as well. Might be difficult to speculate on how different they might be. Decisions.
solace
i think 2 long Nels Cline Singers sets in one night might just be a bit TOO taxing on my brain, regardless how diff they may be
Three dollars and 63 cents
I'm seeing a set by the Scott Amendola Band and two sets by the Singers next Friday down in New York. It might make my head explode, but I figure if it does, it's a great way to go. I'll let everybody know how different the sets are.
solace
caught the late show last night here in Minneapolis... AMAZING... so so amazingfinally getting to see him do his own thing after all these years was well worth the wait apparently they didn't play a single song from the first set, which is awesome. sounded like there were a couple folks who went to both. i don't think my face could have endured 2 full sets of face melting tho. the last 2-3 songs (prior to the lil encore ditty) were just unreal
mountain bed
Thanks for bumping this, and your opinions from last night. I'm REALLY looking forward to Wednesday - I could use some face-melting!

Three dollars and 63 cents
I leave tonight for my week of Singers madness. As soon as I found out about the tour, I knew there was no other way I wanted to spend my summer vacation. I'm glad to hear the tour got off to a good start. Their albums are wonderful (I'm listening to The Giant Pin now, in fact), but they're truly amazing live. I saw them in April, and it was one of the most egoless, generous, and moving nights of live music I've ever seen. They certainly sound nothing like Nels's playing with Wilco, but there's something about their mix of quiet, delicate moments with explosively noisy ones that resonates with me in a way no other music has for a long time. Hope to see some of you this week
mountain bed
Hey $3.63 - if you're coming to Indy I'll be the dude with a navy blue Wilco cap on (summer '05). Look forward to meeting you.
