Welsh Rich
I thought ^ was ok... production was a bit on the poor side, but I've heard an awful lot poorer albums. No idea what this is going to be like either...

M. (hristine
Studio or live? I listened to the live and while the recording was poor, the songs kick some serious ass. Can't wait for this!

Sounds good to me. me too... sounding pretty decent so far, still not too big on the single at all though edit: Talking Bird studio is just as boring as the Daytrotter live version was

solace
It's good.i'd have to disagree somewhat i think... first listen i thought it was hit or miss... second listen, it's way more miss than hit. there's only 3 truly great songs on here (Long Division (easily the best song on the record), Cath, Your New Twin Sized Bed (still a HORRENDOUS title though). these songs are just bad: Talking BirdYou Can Do Better Than MePity and Fear (those drums/percussion wreak 1980's Genesis/solo Phil Collins) and the rest are either just ok or pretty neutral for me at this point. musically it's interesting at times, but i'm not big on a lot of Ben's vocal performances (first track especially) personally i think at least so far it's worse than Plans (which was their weakest album up until that point). it just has hardly any flow/cohesion either, which through Transatlanticism, all of their records flowed very well and were all very much an ALBUM. not saying it's complete shit, but this is far from a great record (4 Stars in Rolling Stone, HAHAHA). i'd be inclined to score it about a 6-6.5 at this point. i can see msyelf enjoying it more, but definitely hasn't brought back that excitement/interest i had in their music from '98-
