HungryHippo
being a Doors fan my entire life, I had somehow managed to avoid this band but decided to pick up this CD the other day at Borders and am highly impressed! pity Arthur Lee didn't gain mythical status like his contemporaries, then again, he outlived them all so maybe that explains why he didn't. anyone ever hear how Jim Morrison stole both Lee's style AND girlfriend? hahah, good times. solace
ditto. so far way better than Cassadaga
explodo
ditto. so far way better than CassadagaI warmed to Cassadaga a bit, but yeah, that record was half trash so it doesn't take a whole lot. So far, I think this is okay. Maybe a little underwhelming after the bootlegs, but still good. And my favorite song from the live shows (Smoke Signals) didn't make it on here, so that bothers me. solace
Doesn't take much though... haha well i'd take that record over some of his earliest stuff at least (because his vocals are tolerable), but yeah, that album had maybe 4-5 great songs, the rest was fairly average and a few songs quite poor

Guest Hollinger.
It started recreational... It ended kinda medical... It came on hot and soft and then it tightened up it's tentacles.

Impressive. I can't stand the production on ND, it's terribly muddy...but the others are 5-star caliber. NP:
