stooka
79 year old mom broke her ankle today - surgery tomorrow. She fell trying to get ready to go to the dentist for an abcess tooth. Complicating matters further, she has neuropathy in both legs. Luckily, the arterial doppler studies came back ok and she didn't hurt anything else during the fall. I work for the surgeon that is doing the case, so I'm not sure if I can assist (since it's my family member). I'm sure she will need to stay with us afterwards to recover. pillowy star
Healing vibes from across the Big Pond. My husband's been on crutches for a good 10 days this summer due to an inflammation in his ankle joint, and that already was extremely painful, and he is only 30. Can't imagine what that must be like for such an old lady. (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))

stooka
Thanks to everyone!!!! Surgery went well. One plate w/ 5 screws - pretty standard stuff. We are getting the back bedroom ready since she'll probably be discharged tomorrow. Again, I appreciate all the well wishes. Thanks
