ELS
That "Pot Kettle Black" sounds a lot like "In Between Days" by The Cure? :16 into this video
yermom
Yes. All the time. It's probably mentioned many times in other threads.

Conrad
"This video is not available in your country." Ouch!
uncool2pillow
I didn't notice it. I'm a big fan of both songs, so now I feel silly. When I listened, my daughter said the Cure song sounded like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePrP8t56eww
LouieB
thanks for ruining this song for me. which one? I like In Between Days,... LouieB
barbkm
Who knew that Jeff was Goth. Seeing the video took me back to high school -- I always thought that bass player was cute.
jimtweedy1977
Wilco did a goth version of Heavy Metal Drummer in January of '03. I think it was at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Its a riot to hear.
TCP
I suppose.... EDIT: Oh wait no I totally hear it now!
dondoboy
I always liked that song. Or both of them, really. But I never noticed the similarities.

ELS
Pot Kettle Black is a much better song anyway. I'll agree with you on that! I've never been much of a Cure fan...
remphish1
Pot Kettle Black is one of my favorite Wilco songs... In Between Days is one of my favorite Cure songs! Both fine songs! I would call it a tie!
Guest Jules
The only thing I have noticed is that this thread blows.
Gobias Industries
The faux hairstyles of the Cure disqualify In Between Days from being a good song.

KansasAl
Robert Smith won't fly on an airplane. I felt that should be shared. And yes I had noticed but tried to block it out. I did scary things in the 80's and admit to seeing the Cure 2x live.
remphish1
Robert Smith flies on planes regularly now. Also there is nothing wrong, or scary about seeing the Cure. I saw them 2 times in 2008 and it was awesome!
Sir Stewart
I've seen The Cure twice ('86 & '90) and have no regrets.
bjorn_skurj
The faux hairstyles of the Cure disqualify In Between Days from being a good song.I would not leave the house looking like The Cure, but their 80s albums were really good, complex, well-crafted music. They were NOT Kajagoogoo.
Moss
I regret not seeing the cure at Red Rocks back in the 80's.
ELS
Robert Smith won't fly on an airplane. That's OK... Mr. T was afraid of flying, too.

I saw them 2 times in 2008 and it was awesome! LOL guess my info was a tad outdated (1988) and well as for seeing them in 2008 that's 20 years after I last saw them and well....I have moved on I guess but glad to hear Robert is over his phobia. $ has a way of doing that.
