Analogman
The other day I was thinking about the folder I have at home with old Wilco interviews in it.
aricandover
few could argue that Wilco had become the most important rock band in America I love Wilco, but come on, that's just silly.
jcroach
Cool. i have a couple of similar books about U2. I have another one about Kurt Vonnegut. They're always interesting candid reads. EDIT: Just checked out that web site. LULU is a self publishing company. I wonder the legal logistics behind acquiring these interviews from their original publishers. Oh well, that's for them to figure out. It does mean that you won't be able to walk into your local bookstore or big box store and buy this.
dondoboy
I love Wilco, but come on, that's just silly.Oh boy, that could be a whole thread.

aricandover
Oh boy, that could be a whole thread. how could they possibly be, "the most important rock band in America", when millions upon millions of Americans have no clue who they are?
dondoboy
how could they possibly be, "the most important rock band in America", when millions upon millions of Americans have no clue who they are?Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you at all.

Some of his books are on Amazon.com, so maybe you will e able to buy them in "brick and mortar" stores too.

ditty
how could they possibly be, "the most important rock band in America", when millions upon millions of Americans have no clue who they are? The only reason I like the fact that "millions upon millions of Americans have no clue who they are" is because WE continue to be able to see them in small intimate venues

Three dollars and 63 cents
Is this really a book of Wilco interviews, or is it a book of interviews with Jeff Tweedy? I was just saying to someone the other day that someone needs to write a book about Wilco that's actually about all of Wilco and not just Jeff. I'm cautious about things that are self-published, too...
LouieB
I love Wilco, but come on, that's just silly.Yea, agreed.........I love them too....but really....and yea, Wilco is more than just Jeff, but not really....it is his band and really no offence to any band member past or present, but what do any of them really have to say??? It took Bob Dylan about 35 or so years to get a book like that. How many really important interviews has Jeff done over the years. Oh well... LouieB
imdwalrus
how could they possibly be, "the most important rock band in America", when millions upon millions of Americans have no clue who they are? It depends on how you define 'important.' Besides, the fact that David Banda's mom is still considered 'important' by most Americans immediately disqualifies their opinions. lost highway
What's this? A new piece of Wilco media comes out and I don't even feel tempted to buy it. I'm not the dork I thought I was.

froggie
the band began its ascent with 1995
LouisvilleGreg
Another movie, book, album deal huh? Somehow I don't think this trifecta will have the same impact as last time. All that being said I'll probably end up buying this.
joshead
Well I doubt the band had anything to do with the book. I've read "Rivers Edge" by this guy, it was alright. Lots O' hatin on Matt Sharp.
Central Scrutinizer
how could they possibly be, "the most important rock band in America", when millions upon millions of Americans have no clue who they are? Some of the most important influences on rock and roll remain in obscurity to this day. It's the value of their influence. I would say the arc of the band's development, their approach to their fans and their craft are inspiration enough to countless other bands that toil in widely ranging levels of success based on the inspiration of Wilco. So, yeah.
