Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood - Nancy & Lee

On a bit of a Lee kick lately.

What you think? I got that too but am undecided about it so far.

I like it. I like the guitar sounds. The organ on the last song is cool. It's kind of got that technorock backbeat but with a little looser trippier feel.

that's the way it's gonna be huh?

I thought it was a funny coincidence too.

How are those Wrens and One Hundred Dollars 7"? (I love both those bands)

Great! The wrens one is this old thing from 1995, but the $100 is brand new. There's a digital coupon thing with the 7", which is good since my turntable is pretty touch and go.

First song is about the 14th floor of Princess Margaret Hospital and the second about migrant workers in Leamington. It is worth the $7.00 for $100.

I can't wait until they record the 'Black Gold' song about Fort McMurray. I swear they have written an anthem - an bizzarro reply to Four Strong Winds except instead of singing about 'Winds that blow lonely' they sing about VLTs and giant tar sands trucks. I gotta hear it again.

I kept my eye open for that $100 7" while I was at Soundscapes the other day, didn't see it, but I didn't look too thoroughly either. Maybe next time.

Seeing that Wrens one just makes me impatient for the new one.
