Lammycat
Yes, he is. Very nice work last nice. * *Disclaimer: Jon Lester plays for BOS so he isn't as good as the media may make him out to be.

Sir Stewart
What site is good for breaking down player stats chronologically? Por exemplo: Jon Lester's numbers over his last five or so starts. But he had cancer you know. And yet he has never been considered a clubhouse cancer.

Sir Stewart
http://www.cbssports...ayerpage/580589 Hmm. Can't seem to get totals there though. I imagine there's somewheres you can like choo-choo-choose someone's last X number of games, hit "Calculate" or whatever and then numbers get tallied up. I mean, you see that shit flashing onscreen all the time on ESPN and commentators are spewing numbers left and right during games...
bjorn_skurj
Ah well. We do not love the Mets because they succeed, we love the Mets because the Yankees, their power and domination, leave us cold.

bobbob1313
A few notes: Lester isn't quite the ace he's portrayed to be, but he is a very nice young pitcher. Not in the same breath as a lincecum (or even a gallardo, or a Johnson; more like a rocky nolasco, but probably a little better) marlins now 2-5 in games I've gone to this season. Amazing how different citi and new Yankee are playing. Wonderif it's the teams or the stadiums themselves, though.

Not in the same breath as a lincecum (or even a gallardo, or a Johnson; more like a rocky nolasco, but probably a little better) Jesus Christ man you are fucking amazing. Let's say all you wrote is valid. Okay, now - was it called for? Did someone say "Jon Lester is the goddamned BEST!!!!!" No! So what is the point of damning with faint praise when some fans are chatting about how they like one of their team's fucking pitchers? Because it's expected of you and you don't want to disappoint? That's gotta be the only reason. Let it go. Marlins suck. EDIT: Almost forgot what I came in here to post! There's a great talk (just ending now) on NPR's Talk of the Nation - Bruce Weber, writer, talking about learning to be an umpire. Some great stuff, should be available here later on: http://www.npr.org/t...oryId=106099932

jenbobblehead
I am seeing the Red Sox tomorrow at Camden. I'm gonna totally tell them that bobbobb thinks they suck.
Lammycat
I love the enthusiasm from Sox fans that oozes through the screen when they play at Fenway South! Got like a dozen text messages last night about it from a pal that lives in Annapolis.
jenbobblehead
Did you see that the Nats had a record attendance during the Sox games? Even better than opening day of the new stadium. Man, that's gotta hurt. At least Sox fans (some of them) have adopted the Natinals and have a fondness for them that they do not feel for the Orioles.

I figured lammycat just wanted me to post it, and I didn't want to dissapoint. if this post wasn't trying to bait me into my 'predictable response post' then I mustve misunderstood it. If it wasn't, then I was merely agreeing with his statement. Either way, this is usually the part of the discussion where someone posts a photo of a baby crying hysterically. bobbob1313
Back when I was a precocious red sox hater. It mightve been cute then, but now apparently it's infuriating.

Lammycat
That's cool. He and Gr--y Lit-le both co-coached at the school I'm working on my Masters at during the 90s. Weird.
rareair
nolasco is rounding into elite starter shape imo. what was his deal before going to the minors? mechanics, social anxiety, non-sinking sinker?
