barbkm
So -- my wall at work is covered with photos I've taken at Wilco, Robyn Hitchcock, and Minus 5 shows, or photos of me with Jeff, or photos from the site that I like (e.g., the one with Stephen Colbert). Today, I was taking a brief mental break and gazing at my gallery when I notiched that Jeff's wearing one of these four articles of clothing in each: that wool hat (which I assume is his woobie); the short, blue jean jacket; the either black or dark blue hooded, zip-up sweat jacket; or the black button down shirt -- and various combinations of each. And I relizeds two things: Someone needs to take Jeff shopping I am easily distracted
Conrad
I like his music. Don't care what he wears.
j4lackey
It's called the Dad Syndrome. Only this is the rock and roll version, instead of bermuda shorts and sandals with socks (which are actually WAY underrated).
Wilco Worshipper
He did wear a blue and white striped button down at Tanglewood last summer

Wendy
Don't forget the "indie pimpin'" style (that's how Spencer described it anyway ) at our living room show last month.
pillowy star
I guess it might be some sort of "safety blanket" issue. If he still got stage fright, he might use those particular items of clothing as mental crutch because he feels comfortable in them.

MattZ
I have found that there are certain articles of clothing of mine that have a certain karma. And I end up wearing them when appropriate. Always.
LouieB
I am easily distractedA new album can't come out soon enough.... I am sure Jeff has plenty of dough to buy whatever clothes he wants and I am sure Sue would take him shopping if he wanted too.... LouieB
jff
Tickets would be more expensive if the band had to carry a large wardrobe. I was in a band in the '90s that did a two week stint opening for Superchunk, and they wore the exact same shirt and pants every single night. Granted, that was a much smaller scale tour than a Wilco tour, but I think bands do this because it's easier and cheaper to carry fewer clothes, and wash your sweat-and-smoke-soaked stage clothes every few days (or even every day, if possible). If you carry lots of clothing and wear a variety of outfits on stage, all of it will wind up sweat-and-smoke-soaked and will ALL have to be laundered regularly, creating a logistical nightmare and a expensive bill...and the clothing will take up room in the bus cargo area that is currently occupied by one of the best guitar collections on the road. I'd rather see a variety of guitars than a variety of outfits.
Three dollars and 63 cents
He's a guy. Guys pack light and wear slightly different variations of the same things while they're traveling. All of the guys in the band do. And admit it: if you had a badass green jacket like Jeff's, you'd want to wear it all the time, too.
Sunken mountain
...making him no different from millions of other people in this country. Exactly. For the moment, you make me nervous thinking on my husband wardrobe! Guys used to wear these kind of clothes in ALL countries. Anyways,I love this "indie pimpin" style,I will try to convince my favourite boy
