Beltmann
Nice! I lucked into some pretty sweet seats for this game - 2nd row behind the Brewer's dugout. I've got a good week+ of entertainment coming up. Brewers/Cards tonight, Wilco tomorrow and Wednesday. Killers in Vegas on Friday, Sir Paul on Sunday, then Neko Case the following Saturday. You should add M. Ward the night before Neko!

Smokestack Joe
Nice, Im watching the Brewer game on TV and they are interviewing Tweedy right now. He is wearing a Brewer Hat and his jean jacket. He said they are going to play a "loose, rock show." They said Wilco has a Grateful Dead-like following. Mentioned recording a new album, the webcast, DVD. Sort of embarrassing the broadcasters didnt know much about Wilco, made a few mistakes with information.  THe Interview was funny though, some nervousness yet funny little jokes. It was obvious these guys never interviewed a rock musician. Tweedy mentioned he drives the bus. The whole band was in the booth but not being interviewed, standing in the back. Talking about the Pabst Theatre. Mentions they really love it. He said how the Pabst is the only venue where all the members played individually but not as a band. Tweedy solo, Autumn Defense, Cline-Kotche performance. They showed a replay of the First Pitch. Made jokes about Rotator Cuff injury. "I went out there and chucked it" The interview lasted the whole inning. A few moments of awkwardness but funny. I thought id never see Tweedy in a Brewer hat, or at a Brewer game. he said he was impressed with Miller Park. Jokes about the Cubs, Tweedy still follows the Cardinals, he says. He said he Looks forward to Following the Brewers the rest of the year. Im sure he was just being nice. Wow, crazy interview/moments/jokes/ackwardness.
cracked & hooked
Nice, Im watching the Brewer game on TV and they are interviewing Tweedy right now.Yay! Thank you for posting this - the color and the play by play. I need this on youtube right quick. (watching my Yankees get pummeled)
Beltmann
I watch these two announcers every night and, for the most part, enjoy them--but tonight they embarrassed themselves. They didn't even try to conceal the fact that they knew nothing about Wilco except for the few notes handed to them moments before. Most of their comments were about the Pabst Theater, not the band, and for long, awkward stretches they seemed to have no idea what to ask next. (Schroeder seemed genuinely confused about who Tweedy was and barely said a word, while Anderson kept getting his facts wrong and kept repeating the same dull questions just to fill time until the inning was over.) Tweedy started off warm and funny, but seemed to grow increasingly bored with the utter inanity of the announcers. He looked helpless. It's forgivable that they didn't know much about Wilco, but how hard is it to come up with a few questions and follow-ups on the spot? All that would take is the ability to conduct basic, everyday small talk.
Smokestack Joe
compared to the Cubs broadcast interview, Len Casper is a fan of the band so it was evident of his enthusiam but if he wasnt a fan or didnt know them, like Bob Brenly who didnt say anything, Tweedy didnt even look at him, it would have been similar. Â I appreciated it for its surrealness/ackwardness, its what you get when a jock interviews a musician.
Smokestack Joe
ok, all members of Wilco DID get to run the Klements Sausage Race!!!!!!!!! but i couldnt tell who was what sausage. They all finished the race and no one fell on their face/sausage. crazy.....
Tanner
They did the sausage race! Who won?
Smokestack Joe
75% of their bodies were covered by fabric and foam in the shape of clowny sausage character and 25% were black jeans and boots and Hush Puppies shoes......so i dont know who won. Â Nels pulled a hammy though so he wont be performing the next two nights.
andshewas
Shit. I knew I was missing out... I punched out at 7:09 tonight. 45 minutes too late for me to have gotten to the park on time (that, and I had no parking cash), so I just went home. : (
Tanner
Ah, I thought the announcers usually said who won. I expect some entertaining banter about this tomorrow night...
