imdwalrus
A bit of trivia for everybody: The camel's name is Tzvi (or Zvi), which is a Hebrew name.
SarahC
the artwork made me smile... it's nifty. never would i have thought a camel would be on the cover of a wilco record.
Hippycat
They definitely captured my best side. I've yet to attend a party that required a camel. That right there...is one of my greatest regrets.

Can someone who's in Milwaukee run over and check, please?based on the photoshoot pics posted a few days ago in the other thread, I believe it took place on the sidewalk/curb in front of the restaurant's parking lot edit: pics are here http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...p;#entry1321480

rhino4evr
based on the shoot photos. I bet the store window picture will be on the back of the CD. 6 Empty Chairs...6 Empty suits..
SeattleC
The font is a total 70s throwback. It looks like the font on a bad folk record. The font looks more like Times German Milwaukee to me

So the camel is on the sidewalk, and the gate is around the parking area in front of the restaurant? I was originally seeing it as the camel being inside a gated area, with the car in between parked on the street, and the restaurant right up against the far side of the street. File this post under "you're lame, and the rest of us didn't need to read this to know just how lame".
Gobias Industries
I love this cover. I'm, well, sprung for it.

lost highway
The cover rules. Much like the new Neko Case, I find the complaints come from people who struggle with the idea that quality art can be light hearted. I would also like to add that the photograph is exceptionally well taken/processed.

Hadn't thought about that, it does have the same sort of hilarity as Neko's new one. http://www.independent.co.uk/multimedia/ar...led_140642t.jpg

Mrs. Peel
I dig the cover. Only thing I would have done differently is a slightly different angle on the shot, so they could have put the "WILCO" in place of the Maders sign. Exactly what I would have done too. Made it fit in with the scene. Of course, I'm not a photographer.....oh, wait.....

I like the Neko Case cover, but I don't find it nearly as absurd or abstract as a camel with a party hat in front of a german restaurant.

I bet you could hear a pin drop at those old Dylan Acoustic sets. Not like Jeff's rowdy crowds!

Not like Jeff's rowdy crowds! It always bugs me when at some point in that recording of that song (second to last verse I think?) the audio changes to a really tinny sound, and then back. You guys ever notice that?

You guys ever notice that? I know what you mean. Someone once told me his main mic went out, and the remainder of the song was recorded through his guitar mic. I haven't actually confirmed that, though.

You guys ever notice that?Yeah. I don't have my disc with me, but I think there's an explanation in the liner notes. If I recall correctly, the tape ran out and they filled it with an alternate source.
