bböp
A pretty darned long show (22-song main set) for a Saturday night up in the Hudson Valley. The band went on a hair after 8:30 and finished exactly at 11. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, despite the numerous bugs flying about. Jeff asked if anyone had any Deet at one point and someone handed a can of insect repellent up to the stage. Didn't seem to work too well, unfortunately. There was also a barrage of glow sticks thrown up on stage at the start of the second encore, with Jeff encouraging the crowd to bring it on. And for the second straight show, someone on stage had the honor of doing the Spiders strum. This time it was drum tech Nate (who turned it into a work of art). Anyway, here was the complete setlist for Dutchess Stadium: —"The Price is Right" theme music intro—Wilco (the song)I'm Always in LoveIATTBYHA Shot in the ArmBull Black NovaYou Are My FaceOne WingSide With The SeedsWar on WarDeeper DownImpossible GermanyFar, Far AwayToo Far ApartHandshake DrugsCan't Stand ItJesus, etc.Sonny FeelingTheologiansHate It HereWalkenI'm The Man Who Loves YouHummingbird---------------Poor Places>Spiders (Kidsmoke)---------------The Late GreatsYou Never KnowHeavy Metal DrummerHoodoo VoodooI'm A Wheel

u2roolz
That is one fucking setlist right there. Good for you guys. Of course having seen them 1 week ago today on the infamous Lowell rain out, I'm a bit bummed. (in Costanza voice) I Demand Reparations!! Kristofor PS Just got back from Elton & Billy at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Amazing.
bböp
Forgot to mention that Jeff took a cue from Yo La Tengo -- at the Coney Island show earlier this week, Ira took out a bag of baseballs and threw some out to the crowd, saying that people might have come to a baseball park expecting to catch some foul balls -- and threw out a couple of signed baseballs to the crowd. One was signed by the entire band, and one was signed by the entire crew. Jeff remarked that the latter was much rarer and more valuable. (I totally agree. I want a crew ball! )
ronniedobbs
Heavy Metal Drummer was after You Never Know, not Hoodoo Voodoo. I had to leave during Heavy Metal Drummer to catch the last train back to New York, so I don't know what was played after it, but I'm sure it was played. Setlist was good, they mixed it up a bit from the Coney Island show, which was nice.
cracked & hooked
It was like a party. I've got some good pics, but they'll have to wait.
u2roolz
That's fantastic about the baseballs! Great idea.

In my haste to get the setlist posted, I inadvertently omitted HMD. You didn't miss much after that... Anyway, I fixed my earlier post. Thanks!

Kevin
Wonderful show, may be the best of the 7 I've seen by the band. Excellent set, nice venue, good sound in the pit. Jeff was in good spirits and seemed to really be having a great time up there. The new dueling guitars section of Hoodoo Voodoo is insane. Great stuff.

danlevy
It was great to see such a fine showing from the hard-core tapers... I cannot wait to hear nyctaper's recording... it was very reassuring, dancing like a crazy fool last night, to know that I would have a great recording to enjoy of the blessed event. Great crowd last night!

Guest zacincceo
I thought Lowell and the rain was good, this was that on steroids without the rain and a proper encore hahah Pics/Vids later in the day.... Why wasn't the venue poster limited run?
mornglry
So glad I bought ticket earlier in the week and drove up to see this show. Felt cheated with rain in Lowell and couldn't make Coney Island so had to go to Wappingers and this was the show I've been waiting for! Wow, everything was on - great crowd, sound good in the pit, band was in high spirits and playful, set list was awesome! Feeling "alive" (aka sore) this morning from jumping around but not too much from clapping The barrage of glow sticks on stage was fun. I would have loved to hear sunken treasure but too far apart and theologians put a big smile on my face. lovely evening!!!!!! i'm glad i ended my wilco summer with this show. perfect. enjoy artpark everyone. - dawn

Why wasn't the venue poster limited run? I don't know about the poster, sorry... but I enjoyed Lowell show too - it was moodier and atmospheric and the rain was the perfect capper for that show. The setlist or maybe just the song placement seemed darker and my friend commented that jeff mentions blood and kisses a lot in lyrics at that show. - dawn

WhiteLight
What a fun show in Wappingers ! That was one of the best concerts that I have been to in a long time. The setlist rocked, Jeff and the boys looked like they were having fun, the crowd was into it and the weather cooperated . What a great start to my stay-cation ! ryann7739
There was also a barrage of glow sticks thrown up on stage at the start of the second encore, Phish show?
wagx3
don't bother posting the videos, they're not allowed. i've seen vids posted here before. i think it should be okay. i was having a blast from the pit!! sound was perfect!! only thing that sucked was someone kept BEEFING these WICKED FARTS the entire show!!! and i'm definitely not the only one who smelled them. a bunch of people around me were reacting, and i even talked to a few people who also said "i've been smelling them the whole show!" pretty hilarious to look back on but sucked when the show was happening. i went to this show alone b/c my buddies were too cheap to shell out 30 or 40 for a ticket...man did i have fun!! people around me were great. jeff was SO FUNNY last night. a few times i had to ask myself if he was messed up on something haha. i remember he came forward to put his leg on the monitor but he lost his balance, stumbled off, and laughed. he kept messing up his hair which was hilarious. the intro to ITMWLY was hilarious. jeff did the guitar slide and then brought the guitar up to his mouth and kept it going for a while. glenn stood up on his chair was screaming like "come on motherfuckers!!!" and then hopped down to start the song. also, the electronic midi pad that glenn has wasn't working beffore heavy metal drummer. just like on the live album...it didn't work. jeff was like "wow! this has never happened before!!" two seconds later... "oh wait....no it has happened before." then he was mid sentence when it went off and they started the song abruptly. pretty hilarious! there were too many funny jeff moments in this show. he did the Tweedy scream like 4 times. cracked & hooked
Oh my goodness, it was such a fun show. Second funnest only to NYE at MSG. Much more enjoyable than Keyspan. Why? I don't know. Crowd was loose and fun and happy, band was tight and fun and happy. Great, long set. It was such a blast! A real party. I brought my nephew and it could not have been a better first real concert experience for him. No better way to see what it's all about than to have Wilco show you. I feel so, so lucky. Pics! only thing that sucked was someone kept BEEFING these WICKED FARTS the entire show!!! Sorry. (Kidding! But there was a skunk Nels-side towards the end of the show. Are you from the city? Maybe that's what you were smelling.)
nelson muntz
Phish show? Yes...the glow sticks were a bit much. Let me start with...Great Show! Consummate Professionals! Although it was a tough go at Wappingers with the "Drunk Phish Crowd." Conor's Stage Manager had to come down off the stage and remove the drunken fools standing jumping flailing on top of us. Just as that was resolved...a guy standing behind us yelled to Conor "Hurry Up Douche-Bag and get off the stage!" His ever so sweet girlfriend followed with "We're bored already!" Last I saw the police were summoned. What is wrong with these people? Are they not getting the attention required? Can they in fact give a better performance? on that note.... As much as I like the idea of the Ballpark "Tailgate" Venue...It doesn't work for a Wilco Show.
