Three dollars and 63 cents
I think his solo album Coward earlier this year proved he's the king of the overdubs
Via Harvard
Just my two cents, I think Nels is fantastic. The guy gives it his all every night and is amazing to watch perform. This thread is ridiculous.
GasCabbie
I hope he goes. They need a shake up. Let's keep it real. The last 2 albums are just not that good. I'm all for speculating wildly on the internet. That's why I propose that the shake up Wilco really needs is a second, smaller Nels to play that little guitar on "Deeper Down," increasing the potential number of baroque, 64th note guitar lines. grateful dead
i thinka stripped down wilco with pat jeff, mike, glen and john would be very cool to hear it wuld still be very full
choo-choo-charlie
i thinka stripped down wilco with pat jeff, mike, glen and john would be very cool to hear it wuld still be very full How is this stripped down? There's only one band member gone. Stripped-down in my mind would be Jeff, John, Glenn and Pat - like when they laid down the tracks for W(TA) in New Zealand. Or the quartet version of the band, post-Bennett, pre-Mikael.
Shakespeare In The Alley
i thinka stripped down wilco with pat jeff, mike, glen and john would be very cool to hear it wuld still be very fullThis is a dumb statement. A stripped down Wilco would be cool, yes. But what you listed isn't a stripped down Wilco.
SGL
It would be interesting to hear all the W(ta) tracks without the overdubs... then we could all get a small taste of this "stripped down" Wilco. But I think Nels is great (better than I could ever be atleast) and watching him during live shows is amazing. tugmoose
As long as we're engaging in baseless speculation, how much longer for Jeff Tweedy? He's looking pretty weathered on the cover of Spin.

He's looking pretty weathered on the cover of Spin.I'm pretty sure that, after one more album and tour, the rest of the band will rise up and take what's rightfully theirs. Jeff will gather together a few "hired hands", and continue to tour as Wilco, and years of court battles between Jeff's Wilco, and Wilco's WIlco will ensue. John will try to tour with both Wilco's, much like a child tries to appease both divorcing parents.
The High Heat
i thinka stripped down wilco with pat jeff, mike, glen and john would be very cool to hear it wuld still be very full I don't want to see Wilco playing naked. Well, maybe just Glen. Cuz then his extremities could be a quintet instead of a quartet.

I just picture Jeff Tweedy as one of those Futurama Heads in a Jar.. He'll still be rockin out in the year 3,000.
