Guest Jules
there is time. They often get announced later.
Preferred B
I feel pretty confident saying there will be an opener.

Preferred B
What makes you think I'm not just using my powers of deductive reasoning?
Three dollars and 63 cents
It's totally and completely irrational for me to hope for Carla Bozulich's band Evangelista to be picked to open, and I'd get mad when few people paid attention to their sets, but they've got a new album out October 5 and they deserve so much more attention than they got for their last album. And, you know, it would make my life easier if bands I love who never come to my town would at least tour together, so I had to make fewer crazy roadtrips
pez
I am going to put Liam Finn name up for a posssible opener. Liam has just finished touring with Eddie Vedder and is getting ready to announce another major support. Liam has also involved with the 7 Worlds II project earlier this year

I saw Liam open for Crowded House, but he only played a few songs, and I missed him when he played another show in Milwaukee a year or two ago. I'm hoping I get the opportunity to make up for that. Al.Ducts
I was just about to put Andrew Bird on my wish list for Chicago and St. Paul but it appears he's busy both nights Not exactly an "opener" but hey, what would we be without wishful thinking?
pez
I dunno about Liam Finn anymore as a support, Pearl Jam just announce Australian Tour dates with Liam Finn as support, so that may have been his announcement as a major support. However the tour doesn't start until 14 November. Still time for him to join Wilco on Tour. http://www.chuggentertainment.com/tour/

DRH_1382
Looks like it is Liam Finn, according to High Road Touring... http://www.highroadtouring.com/tour/wilco/
the_fliz1
I heard that there was this small band called The Beatles, that were really pushing to get on the bill. Maybe if were really lucky Gwar will get a shot. I am assuming that Andrew Bird will get a handful of dates.
drunkonaquariums
I think it'd be awesome if they kept Blitzen Trapper for the fall tour. I love those guys. Sort of a new folk rock with hints of bluegrass, old time, etc. Almost hearken back to Uncle Tupelo. Last time I saw Wilco, John Doe opened for them. All I have to say about that is Nels Cline must owe them or something. Otherwise I don't know how they ended up on tour because they were awful. Just a 90s-style shitty generic rock band. Shakespeare In The Alley
John Doe is one guy. Former lead singer for X. I didn't see him open, but I'm a big fan of the few songs I've heard of his. Dude's got a good voice, I think.
Preferred B
Is everyone just ignoring the fact that High Road says Liam Finn for all of the shows except Chicago?

drop dead ed
TX dates will probably be supported by local bands....I'm still bitter about Wilco not taking the extra time to make it down to Austin and not Cedar Park. Must've made them an offer they couldn't refuse. It would be nice to see Spoon open for Wilco in WilCO

Mr. Kinsley
Hmmm, maybe it'll be Okkervil River again?
Al.Ducts
It will be Liam Finn for all dates announced thus far (Aside from Chicago). THE PROOF: http://www.highroadtouring.com/tour/wilco/
bböp
I think it'd be awesome if they kept Blitzen Trapper for the fall tour. I love those guys. All I have to say about that is Nels Cline must owe them or something. Otherwise I don't know how they ended up on tour because they were awful. Just a 90s-style shitty generic rock band. Liam (not mention his cohort Eliza Jane, who would hopefully be along with him) is a really awesome performer, so hopefully people will give him/them a fair shot. I know they've got a new EP coming out soon, so I'm sure he/they will play some stuff off that. And I just have to say, in response to the comment about John Doe, that everyone's entitled to their opinion of course. But John Doe is a legend, and it's insulting to say that Nels or Wilco "must owe them something" for them to have been opening that run of shows last year. And I'm not sure where you get "90s-style shitty generic rock band" but did you not get to see Nels come out and absolutely tear it up with John on the Stones' "Gimme Shelter?" And to see John and his band do the X classic "The Modern World" segueing into the Beatles' "Revolution?" Not to mention John's own great solo material like "The Golden State?" IMHO, your comments were pretty off base.
