Sweet Papa Crimbo
Ones that are about writing songs, or that refer to the PROCESS of songwriting, or that are metaphors for the songwriting process. I'm thinking about making a mix of such songs. Any suggestions? So far I have: "Major to Minor" - The Settlers "G to D" - Sloan "Love Song" - Brinsley Schwarz "I Love My Label" - Nick Lowe ? How about "While my Guitar Gently Weeps"?"This Song" by George also"Your Song" by Elton? You really have a LOT of time on your hands. Back of a Bible-Patterson Hood Great song. Very Neil My reasoning came from the understanding that Geffen were trying to push him to make a 'proper rock n roll' album, hence the whole make up and artwork, and that was his retort. LouieB
I forgot this one...not exactly on target...good one though....(back when people really knew how to write songs...snarky comment...) A Song For You....Leon Russell. I've been so many places in my life and timeI've sung a lot of songs I've made some bad rhymeI've acted out my love in stagesWith ten thousand people watchingBut we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you I know your image of me is what I hope to beI've treated you unkindly but darlin' can't you seeThere's no one more important to meDarlin' can't you please see through meCause we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you You taught me precious secrets of the truth witholding nothingYou came out in front and I was hidingBut now I'm so much better and if my words don't come togetherListen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding I love you in a place where there's no space or timeI love you for in my life you are a friend of mine And when my life is overRemember when we were togetherWe were alone and I was singing this song for you You taught me precious secrets of the truth witholding nothingYou came out in front and I was hidingBut now I'm so much better and if my words don't come togetherListen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding I love you in a place where there's no space or timeI love you for in my life you are a friend of mineAnd when my life is overRemember when we were togetherWe were alone and I was singing this song for youWe were alone and I was singing this song for you LouieB
