TCP
With the Olympics only TWO days away, VANOC still hasn't announced who will light the cauldron. I wanted to get a global perspective on this, who do you guys think should light the cauldron? I think it will be Gretzky but in my opinion, it should be Trevor Linden. IATTBYB
I heard it was going to be The Cowboy Poet, f/k/a Dr. Canuck . . . due to his longstanding support for the local NHL team. This poll is just a smokescreen.

TCP
Is Rick Hanson one of these guys? If not, I vote for all three. No, different Hansen but equally (if not more) awesome. I'd recommend reading up on him. I actually had the pleasure of meeting him once, great man. I really like how this has become a "who is your favourite Canadian" thread Maybe I should change the title to "Canada Thread" and the poll to "Greatest Canadian". GtrPlyr
A dapper dressed Leonard Cohen slowly walking up the steps to light the cauldron. That would be my hope... In reality, as it's always a sports person getting the honor, I'd go with Cindy Klassen (Canada's most decorated Olympian.) Most likely it will be Gretzky as that's the predictable thing to do.
