badu2fan
It will be interesting in more bar settings if crowd will listen to Jeff and shut up. I remember in Myrtle Beach they had to rock out due to the Bar noise at house of blues....Is National the only bar stop on tour most of the venues seem sweet like DPAC etc.
bböp
some additional comments....That was Jeff's son that played the rest of California Stars right? No, definitely NOT. It was a youngish boy named Max -- I'm terrible with ages, but he was maybe 12 or 13 -- who was toward the front, stage left, holding up a sign that said something like "Can I come up and play California Stars with you?" Jeff noticed the sign and then waved him up mid-song. Max just sang at first, but then Jeff gave him his guitar and he strummed the song the rest of the way. Afterward Jeff said something to him like, "You looked like you knew the chords." Pretty cool moment for the kid, and I hear he got his poster signed afterward as well. watch me fall
I was at that MB show, but we were right up front so really couldn't hear much crowd noise. I'll be at the National show, too, but doubt I will be anywhere near the front. I will report back as far as crowd noise goes. Since the show is sold out and has been for a while, I'm hoping only Wilco diehards are there.

LOL, I told everyone on Facebook that his son was jamming on stage. Whoops. LOL. I know that his son plays, so I didnt think it was that impossible. That's pretty cool that Jeff let a 12 year old come up on stage and jam with them. Ha ha.
bobbob1313
The "Oh Yeah", "That's it", "Holy Shit" kids were behind me the whole first set, they seemed to lose their minds every time Nels grabbed the guitar. Then they started to do some sort of head bang that I have not seen since the 90's. Part of me applauded their enthusiasm, maybe on of their first concerts, the other part of me was getting annoyed. Luckily they moved after the set break. Impressive crowd for Miami, was worried since my last shows were the residency shows and those were memorable but this was a very good time. They looked straight out of a Blind Melon concert, circa 1994. It was pretty entertaining, but as I was literally standing elbow to elbow with those guy, it grated on me a bit. Edie
See my earlier post. 'Twas definitely Outta Mind (Outta Sight). I noticed that trayanastasio corrected his setlist post. Sorry Paul -- I usually never miss your posts!
quicksllver
Hi all. I decided to join and throw some pictures up here at the request of one who will go unnamed... for now. If you want some more pictures, or a higher resolution send me a message on here an I will be happy to oblige. Although, realize these are from a point in shoot since they would not let better cameras in.
Mr. Heartbreak
Damn, Jeff still has that ratty old denim jacket? Thanks for the reports, everybody. Now I'm really looking forward to tonight's show in Clearwater. Hope they do the same kind of thing with an acoustic set!

Toby Oppenheimer
They billed it as An Evening With Wilco. They weren't kidding. One of the greatest concerts I've ever seen. HeatherM
Nice photos, quicksllver. This is geeky, but I'm loving the backdrop they're using, it looks really cool. Miami sounds like it was an awesome show!

Opuntia
+1 for an amazing show, I've seen them 6 times around FL and this was the 2nd best (with WPB in 2002 #1). I was also in the "pit" and the downside is that the sound was kind of muddled, but that's the trade off. I didn't realize that wilco doesn't allow videotaping, how long have they had that policy? Analogman
I think it has been that way for a long time. Wilco Show Info and Policies * NO CAMERAS PERMITTED: Still or Video. Professional photographers MUST obtain a photo pass via Wilco's management or publicist. No exceptions. Please be considerate of others. * We ask that you refrain from using your cell phones during concerts. * Wilco does permit audio taping and trading of live performances wherever it does not conflict with venue or other restrictions beyond our control. We do not allow direct soundboard patches. Wilco supports the free trading of live recordings for non-commercial purposes. I guess it was recently updated. It now includes all cameras. Wise Enough
I am so mad about the new camera policy. I wonder if I could procure a photo pass if I emailed the publicist Seriously?? No still cameras?? Thats way harsh. How are you meant to know who the publicist is? And what are the chances of them saying yes?
Analogman
I am so mad about the new camera policy. I wonder if I could procure a photo pass if I emailed the publicist Hopefully, the only thing left does not get the axe. I always thought is was sort of odd to yell about people filming, but not those taking photos throughout the whole show. I would think the use of flash had something to do with it. bobbob1313
I thought Jeff said something about photos being allowed but not with flash. Or maybe it was the friendly robotic voice at the beginning of the show?

H.Stone
I love the sound of the stripped down set, including the ambient lighting. These ATS reports are going to great reading until I can finally get to a show.
Three dollars and 63 cents
This is a really strange review I came across via Twitter. The reviewer left at intermission because "Handshake Drugs" overwhelmed him with fond memories of his own experiences with drugs and he couldn't think of a more perfect end to the evening. Yes, really. http://ow.ly/16S57u This, boys and girls, is why you should just say no, so somewhere down the line you don't write lame reviews of shows by awesome bands and make fools of yourselves on the internet. I can't believe an editor accepted this
quicksllver
FWIW, last night at the show they did allow still photography with point and shoots, and cellphones. The "robotic voice" before the show said that it was more than allowed. They specifically said video taping of any type was prohibited as if flash photography. Security grabbed some people for taping, and most people refrained from flash photography, but no one got in trouble for using cell phones or point and shoots, and there was a lot of 'em.
