AJ673
Such a beautiful song - my current fix. I only have it from Kicking Television - pardon my ignorance but which album is it from?

Magnetized
If you don't know yet about the Wilco lyric website, which also tells you which songs are from which albums, you should check it out: http://bemydemon.org/ Lots of great information on there--I keep it on my links bar. Oil Can Boyd
I love that song. I still like the studio version more than any live version I have heard.
choo-choo-charlie
I love that song. I still like the studio version more than any live version I have heard. With the exception of Tweedy playing it solo, I think "California Stars" is also better on record than any live version I've heard, with ONE additional exception: at the Strathmore this year, with Mikael's train-flute-chime solo... Guest Speed Racer
I prefer Jeff's solo versions, and the 1999/2000/2002 live performances with Wilco. The studio version has the same muddied vocal effect as "My Darling," which, like "My Darling," makes the song sound poorly produced. It sounds as though what they were going for was an "I'm so distant" sentiment, and it winds up sounding like "I've never mixed an album before."
ThisIsNowhere
I prefer the Kicking Television version.
