Muzzle of Dan
Apparently the Mayor of St. Louis proclaimed 8/29 to be Jeff Tweedy day. Jeff said that everyone should be off work tomorrow because Jeff Tweedy Day is a 3-day weekend. My first Tweedy solo show! So awesome. I don't have a setlist but he did play One Wing - which was stellar! Also, I loved Misunderstood addressed to the hometown crowd. Lots of funny banter - played the guitar solo from Hummingbird after the song and said "you can go back and put that in.. with Protools or Garageband or something Loved the story that accompanied New Madrid, where he talked about the big to-do over the great big earthquake prediction for the New Madrid fault. I totally remembered all of that earthquake business and so did my Mom. We had a good laugh on that one. Really great show. I couldn't have asked for more. I took my folks to see this and now they are both walking away saying "wow, he's really entertaining. He's an incredible guitarist!" My mother went rushing to print out the lyrics because she could only catch snippets at the show. I'm The Man Who Loves You20. A Shot in the Arm The crowd was great, esp. for a festival crowd. I was about 10 feet in front of the soundboard and everyone was pretty quiet throughout the whole show. One funny bit of banter that Muzzle of Dan didn't mention was when someone yelled out to Jeff that he needs to pay his tab at Cicero's, Jeff said he did not owe them, they owed him and Cicero's is lucky that he did not send them his rehab bill. He did say it was nice to be close to home and family, right before he played Misunderstood. Couple things LouFest needs to work on for next year is more shade and more water stations. It was not that hot yesterday, so it wasn't too bad.
thejokeexplained
Jeff Tweedy day in St.Louis?! Jeff Tweedy day Moderator edit: Wilco and Jeff Tweedy do not allow videotaping of shows from the audience. For this reason, we can't allow them to be directly linked on Via Chicago. It's the band's policy. Supposedly, they don't allow photos either, but that seems to have been overlooked as of late. PHOTO AND TAPING POLICIES (NOTE CHANGES AS OF March 2010) * NO CAMERAS PERMITTED: Still or Video. Professional photographers MUST obtain a photo pass via Wilco's management or publicist. No exceptions. Please be considerate of others. * We ask that you refrain from using your cell phones during concerts. * Wilco does permit audio taping and trading of live performances wherever it does not conflict with venue or other restrictions beyond our control. We do not allow direct soundboard patches. Wilco supports the free trading of live recordings for non-commercial purposes.

It was not that hot yesterday, so it wasn't too bad. Thanks for posting the actual setlist! The Cicero's thing was really funny. Also - as far as the photo and video stuff at this show... I think that the festival policies were honored more than any band policies. I know that the festival was allowing in any cameras, as long as they weren't pro-style with detachable lenses. However, they specifically stated that any kind of audio recording equipment was prohibited - I don't know if any recordings will be showing up of this one... there are lots of youtube videos up from people's camera's and phones, though. H.Stone
That is an official proclamation! Sounds like a great show. I would have love to have attended, but the plans just...never quite materialized. Thanks for the setlist.
bböp
I would have love to have attended, but the plans just...never quite materialized. What, you guys didn't make it down there? After all our scheming and plotting?
H.Stone
My god, it was a brilliant idea at the time! I do recall someone predicting, however, that none of us "would be going ANYwhere" in the morning. It's too bad. We'd make a good posse.
Preferred B
I see Jeff did play "Roses." Very cool. Sounds like it was a good time! I wish I were going to be around for Farm Aid.

calvino
Has any torrents been posted for this set yet? LouFest organizers did not allow taping. Of course, someone might of sneaked it in. I did not notice anyone, though. It would have been a great show to tape - the crowd was perfect. If it pops up, it will be posted in the In a Future Age thread. Muzzle of Dan
I did not see any tapers either. There was a big notice on the festival page that pro audio recording equipment was prohibited. Completely agreed that it would have been a good one though.
