My sister still catches his shows when he passing through Minneapolis.
Mr. Heartbreak
No. Someone should book a rock cruise with the eagles, bob sever and BJ and torpedo it.Not all of us can be cool enough to give a shit about obscure people like Lee Ranaldo.

worldrecordplayer
No. Someone should book a rock cruise with the eagles, bob sever and BJ and torpedo it.I'd be happy to be the firing officer on that sub. I grew up on LI, graduated h.s. in '75, Piano Man territory. I really couldn't stand his music then, and I still can't. Much to the chagrin of a lot of my friends who think he's "a great performer" and have no idea why he makes me want to vomit. Feel the same way about the Eagles. Joe Walsh solo is a different story. Tonight for me, Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker at the Middle East, Cambridge MA.

Mr. Heartbreak
What I don't understand is why you are so compelled to comment about it. I'm going to have a great time, whether you like him or not. Sure, I'll use the execrable "We Didn't Start the Fire" as a piss break, but that doesn't mean it won't be an otherwise good show. Mr. Heartbreak
Well, you asked if he was obscure. I would say, yeah, relatively obscure, compared to, say, Bily Joel.

tinnitus photography
Well, you asked if he was obscure. I would say, yeah, relatively obscure, compared to, say, Bily Joel.that wasn't the point, but we're talking past each other 3-4 posts ago, so it doesn't matter. LR >>>>>>> BJ, but we already covered that. speaking of covers, i've seen Lee cover Talking Heads, Neil Young, Modern Lovers and Wire. what covers do you think ex-Mr Brinkley would do or has done? Mr. Heartbreak
i didn't want to be a dick. How about bringing this guy back? I guess it all depends on the purpose of this thread. Scrolling back through recent pages, I see a lot of folks posting about who they are going to see, who they like, some follow up comments from others saying that they went to that show, too...liked it, didn't like it, etc. Now, I am not about to read through 60+ pages, but going back to October, that's about all I see. I don't really see a whole lot of people mentioning how much they hate the artist being discussed, and so on. You go to way more shows than I do, and obviously, you're passionate about music. I am too. So I think you can understand that it would be annoying if someone decided to take the piss out of your choice of artist to pay good money to see. Hell, I thought I was deflecting that kind of thing a little with my initial post, talking about "getting my schlock" on. I know Billy Joel has plenty of cheesy songs, and I will no doubt hear a couple tonight. And I totally understand that, in your view, they are ALL cheesy (or worse). I get that. But why keep posting over and over about it? Your "they would all be a pee break for me" post did the job. I wouldn't have taken it personally at all if it weren't' for the fact that you just did something similar a couple days ago, when I posted a favorites list (20-40 top albums), and it was chock full of oldies. And again, for whatever reason, you posted, Mr. H., there are good bands after 1974, or some such thing. Wow, you sure told me! I am so old and out of it. Hell, even my top 20 list didn't have anything past 1992. So yeah, if that was a serious question - "should I cease?" - I would say, yeah, get off your indie rock high horse and give it a rest.
