I met him at a Moe show here in Denver a month or so ago while he was shooting. I totally agree on his new style being less favorable to the eye than his earlier shots (imo). Looks like everyone is always dirty (insert "well, he DOES shoot a lot of Jam band shows") or is a Rodin sculpture or something.

i'll be there. say hi if you are on the rail.

Hey Tim, going with my wife tonight, so I got stadium seats.  She doesn't like to stand all night (although she did fine for Shorty a couple weeks ago). A (small) price to pay for me.  Anyway, having seats makes it easier for both of us to be there for Charles Bradley, who I was told not to miss.

definitely get there in time for the Screaming Eagle of Soul. i think he goes at 8 but i haven't had set times sent over yet.

I just called HOB for set times, she said she'll have them around 3:00, I'll post them here, but if you get them first and can do the same that would be great.   I assume you're shooting tonight?  Looking forward to seeing some good shots of Stanton!

yeah i'll be taking photos along w/ two my friends. i'll see what i can do about getting photos of Stanton, but good drummer photos are tough sometimes. depends on the stage/drum layout and lighting.

I'm sure you'll do better than this, off my camera phone at One Eyed Jacks last year during JazzFest

Nice meeting you and your friend last night, WRP.

Great to meet you finally as well, Tim. I would've figured the chances of me getting to the rail last night were slim and none. My wife is always full of surprises! I even made it into Galactic's Instagram photo when Sharon stepped away to get some water.

We had fun, I think you said was your first Galactic show, hope you had fun too.

sorry to downgrade Sharon to friend, but i wasn't sure and didn't want to make assumptions ;)

yeah that was a fun show...the singer added a lot, i think. unfortunately i had to bail a bit early so i could drive up to Loon last night. good day of skiing today until i blew out of one of my bindings at high speed and tweaked my wrist.

Saw The National last night playing in front of the Sydney Opera House.  Amazing gig.  It was streamed live - and the whole thing can be replayed on the link below.  Well worth checking out - great sound/vision quality (show starts at the 14 minute mark):

so you saw Moby Dick?

No. They went into one of the least impressive jams I've seen after starting Dazed and Confused. The dude playing JPJ was a great musician--really strong on bass--but the Page guy just can't quite cut it as Page.

The violin bow "solo" was just a mess. I likened it to a cat being electocuted. It was fun for awhile but as a guitar player it was hard continuing to watch the Page guy work at cutting it.

It's not that he was bad, but he didn't have that confidence and mastery you want to see a guitar player have, and the solos just had very little soul.
