The Whole Love streams on NPR, with live chat, on Monday

Recommended Posts

At noon on Monday, 9/19, there will be a listening party, followed by live chat with Jeff, John and Pat. Details here: http://www.npr.org/2...arty-with-wilco

Here's our chance to ask Jeff all those burning questions!

Join us live at 12 noon ET on Monday, Sept. 19, as we play the entire new Wilco album, The Whole Love, for a special online listening party. After that, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt and Pat Sansone will join us to answer your questions about the new music. Just join us during the listening party and type your questions for the band in the chat window below. All Songs Considered hosts Bob Boilen and Robin Hilton will read your questions and throw in a few of their own.

Can't make the live listening party? Check back later and we'll have the entire new Wilco album available to hear as part of our First Listen series.

Any news released by the band? I just caught the end, to hear that NPR is broadcasting Sunday's show (I think that's what he said) and that they will be doing a Tiny Desk concert. Anything else I missed?

Looks like 3 of us posted this news simultaneously!

I can't believe I posted the info about this and then had such a mother of a day at work that I couldn't listen to one bit of it! I was able to read all 30 page of chat that's still up, though. That's a lot more fun when you're in the moment, but still I'm struck by what a really nice group of people Wilco fans are, overall.

I hope I'm reading correctly that Bob Boilen will be posting the interview segment on the website later?

I just caught the last few minutes of the chat earlier today & missed the part about OSM being a one-take song. That's borderline unbelievable. wow.

And listening to it closely, it makes sense. The growth of the song and the progression on the playing and instrumentation are organic and, frankly, absolutely breath taking and beautiful.

I missed it too, but got a vicarious thrill from reading the chat. The best was the line that went something like..."this is so f'ing good. I'm opening a beer."

How do you read the chat session? Is it on the same NPR page? I'm not seeing it.

Ah, I see. For some reason I thought they just happened to mention it on NPR. I didn't think it was being broadcasted there because they already had done the interview and were doing a tiny desktop concert. I'm very much looking forward to this webcast. I always enjoy having some drinks and rocking out during these things.

so, while we were all waiting for the leak I mentioned on the board that everyone should listen to the new White Denim album..and in this interview Jeff said his favorite recent album was in fact the new White Denim....so....Proof that Jeff reads Via Chicago and digs my music taste. (in my dreams)...

Not to derail the thread, but I just haven't been able to get into White Denim. Any of their albums. And I know plenty of people that really dig them. And it seems like something I should really like.

have you heard the new one "D"? It is almost a complete departure from their previous albums. It's so good.
