ViaTexas
http://wilcospinach.com Apparently Wilco's working on a "Dawned on Me" music video where Jeff and Popeye fight for Olive Oyl. They've got a pretty cool comic strip linked to the site, too, that features the band. Got the info from http://www.examiner....lco-the-spinach

sonicshoulder
What the. . .?? But yes, and here's more. The big question here is has Wimpy sold out or is this stuff actually pretty good? He's always been more of a hamburger guy.

Wendy
Hilarious! At first I thought Jeff was holding a guitar, but now I see it's a crowbar! Ha! But seriously -- Nels in bellbottoms?
Robby
They should draw Jeff with Bluto's beard!

theashtraysays
fun stuff indeed. the part with Nels using sweet pea on the guitar was a little creepy. but the thing was definitely a lot of campy, random, weird-ass fun.

williamblanda
Cool, didn't know Pat kept hambugers in his hair, but with the kind of volume he has goin' on I knew something was up. Can't wait to buy some spinach!
Magnetized
the part with Nels using sweet pea on the guitar was a little creepy. Cool, didn't know Pat kept hambugers in his hair, but with the kind of volume he has goin' on I knew something was up. That's so funny--I posted a comment on the video site itself mentioning both of those things are standouts, too! They were such random, insider things (like the way Nels does use eggbeaters, etc., and the way we all tease about Pat's hair) that I think there was more than a little Wilco input into that video. estewartdc3
More on the genesis of the Dawned on Me video, and the spinach tie-in. Weird but fun. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/comic-riffs/post/when-popeye-met-wilco/2012/01/26/gIQAcaQGVQ_blog.html#pagebreak?tid=sm_twitter_washingtonpost

silsurf
I just MUST have that poster on a tee shirt. Oh please if there is a child of the 60's cartoon god out there that loves Wilco as much as I do can they please consider making a tee shirt for me? H
Queen Amaranthine
Fun, creative video! The Washington Post article linked above says it was hand-drawn, which is very cool too. Computer-generated stuff is great, and technology is fantastic, but there is still something powerful to be said for cartoons, art, etc. done by hand. Now I'm craving canned spinach. Make mine fresh. I thought about starting a thread in ELT for recipies including spinach because I have a couple of good ones, but my internal "obsession control" button is making me think twice! Someone else can run with that idea if desired.
