2012 Baseball Season!!!

Recommended Posts

they sound as if they are blowing it up mid season. wonder how much of the traded salary boston will have to eat if the trade goes through.

There is one more I would show the door for that heinous crew.

Apparently the Dodgers and Red Sox are awaiting on Selig's approval. The prospects in this deal may have to be PTBL's in the offseason because they'd have to clear waivers right now, which would be unlikely. In the meantime the Dodgers will have to do a little roster shuffling to accommodate their new additions. It's being reported that Boston will only have to send $12M to L.A. I would have figured it would have been about four times that much, but I guess this is a different kind of bailout program.

Now if the Phillies can luck out and find a sucker for Ryan Howard's remaing four years/$100M I'd be super happy.

If Wash doens't win manager of the year this year, they should stop giving out the award.

I wouldn't really care if they did stop giving that award out, but so long as they are going to, I think Buck Showalter and Robin Ventura have pretty good cases to be made for them over Wash.

Yes and yes. And I love Wash.

Sandoval and Crawford will be competing in Beach Volleyball in Rio 2016.

I don't wish to see the Panda in a speedo, but great play! That was a more acrobatic, yet far less important, version of the Bob Boone-Pete Rose catch in the 1980 World Series.

It would surely be poetic justice is the Dodgers continue to crap the bed after they tried to buy a championship.

That game today where they almost blew a 10-1 lead had me riveted and amused.

I think crawford's got some good years still in him....got off to such awful start in Boston in every way (his play, w media, injures) & ur effed when that happens in Boston or NY....he's by all accounts a great guy & I think he's gonna have a lot to prove next year

that's carl, not Brandon ;)

How's this for a crazy stat, my degenerate buddy had bet on the tigers 12 outta verlanders 27 starts

Tigers are:

13-2 when he doesn't take them

3-9 when does, haha

Going to see Verlander tonight!

Bummer you got stuck in the rain.

Jules, I was wondering if you had a change of opinion of this year's performance of Dunn?

I think the Sox are definitely missing his bat, esp against the Tigers (for the 2nd series).

Doesn't look like it - unless something changed overnight.

Dunn remains out of lineup, no return date in sight

By Scott Merkin / MLB.com | 09/13/12 5:29 PM ET

CHICAGO -- Day 7 of the Adam Dunn watch ended much like the previous six did: the designated hitter out of the lineup, with no return in sight.

Adam Dunn (oblique) hopes to return Saturday.

Dunn is out of the lineup for the eighth straight game Friday, but says that this is the best he has felt since the injury. Dayan Viciedo will DH again on Friday while Alejandro De Aza plays left field and Dewayne Wise starts in center. Sep 14 - 4:56 PM

Toronto SS Yunel Escobar suspended three games for having a homophobic slur written on his eye black patches. Escobar got himself run out of Atlanta for attitude, has had his fellow Jays' infielders complaining all season about him being a ball hog (failing to feed the 2B the ball to turn DP's so he can do it himself, running in front of them to receive grounders, and reaching over them to catch easy pop-ups, which is dangerous and little league), and now this. At what point does one stop being a knucklehead?
