Atticus
I'm prohibited by forum etiquette and certain federal and state laws from answering that question.
caliber66
Wasn't caliber raising honeybees a while back? If so, how'd it go?Yes. We lost all of our bees each of the last two winters (four colonies total, two each winter). We currently have two healthy colonies and hope to get some honey this summer. Whatever happens, it's mostly fun keeping the bees. It does suck when they all die or abscond though.
NoJ
My buddy and his kid are raising bees too. They had a tough summer last year. The hive didn't do well.
Lammycat
There has been a huge drop in bee populations recently. Tons are dying and no one really knows why. Probably something to do with the iPhone9.
NoJ
Actually I've seen more honey bees this spring than in years past. They are loving all the dandelions in my yard.
Lammycat
Well, there goes the nation-wide bee diminishment quandary. Thanks, man!
NoJ
At least I didn't let my yard go all to hell for no good reason. Also, I just had a 20 minute nap so the synapses are firing accurately again.

caliber66
The bees are likely dying because of the surge in use of neonicotinoid pesticides (among other reasons). Osmia (mason) bees, which are much more efficient pollinators than honeybees, and bumblebees are also declining.
Atticus
Why do dried blueberries taste infinitely better than flash frozen ones? I highy recommend the blueberry Belvita crackers.

It does suck when they all die or abscond though. We did take honey from one of the hives this past summer. Both hives died or absconded during the fall. We have three hives currently and will be installing a fourth soon.I highy recommend the blueberry Belvita crackers.Seconded.

Lammycat
I'd prefer it stuffed with lobster tails, or if that's not possible, with a jerk rub or a teriyaki marinade.
