Nez
OMG what a set list. 33 songs. My best bud and wife caught the show while I was stuck on a job half-way around the world.
Cold as Gasoline
Fantastic setlist. Anybody have a recap? Would love to hear how it was to be there.
RaspberryJam
A really fun, loose, loud show. Although, I was right in front of the speakers on the right, so I don't know how the sound was further back. We had a couple women near us who were completely unaware that there was anyone there but themselves. There were several comments by Jeff how great the crowd was. The security guard at the rail deserves a special shout out for passing out cups of water between songs.
Atticus
Jeff was in a good mood. Commented on how much the crowd was singling along, how much he liked it. Saw him get a little annoyed with Nels when his Impossible Germany solo was stretching many bars past normal. Not in a pissed way, just kinda "alrighty then..." Richard Bowden played fiddle for a really long stretch at the beginning of the show and came back out for part of the encore. John and Jeff seemed to really get a kick out of him. Those of you who have to have a metaphorical vomiting/diarrhea attack every time you hear "The Eagles" or anything related to "The Eagles" may not want to look him up. Mikael went absolutely apeshit on his keyboard at the end of Shot in the Arm. Never seen him that animated. Really thought at one point that he was trying to break the Virus keyboard. He had a shirt or some kind of wadded up fabric that he was crushing the keyboard with--just smashing it. I couldn't believe that first 25 song stretch. It was crazy. They just kept going. Yaz Rock
Wow, talk about about mixing it the setlist. That looks great. So, has Glenn really retired the standing-on-the-drums thing at the start of I'm the Man Who Loves You?

Stefanie
This was probably the best Wilco show I've seen. I was really proud of the crowd, too, because shows at Stubb's have gotten really chatty lately and frankly it's embarrassing as a local. I'm not saying there weren't show-talkers but it wasn't overwhelming like it has been at other recent shows. I had the best time and I wish they were doing it again tonight! So, has Glenn really retired the standing-on-the-drums thing at the start of I'm the Man Who Loves You? Yes, they said at Solid Sound that he will only do that at Solid Sound from now on. Can't say that I blame him for wanting to retire that.
mpolak21
Looks like a tremendous set, hope there were tapers.
Stefanie
As I was going in I saw some tapers get hassled by the staff. I don't know if they ended up letting them in with their gear or not. I sure hope so!
Nez
From my wife, who emailed me from the show, "... I'm standing next to a lady - Rita - whose husband tapes bands and uploads to etree.org. The band lets him put his stuff up with their equipment. He's been doing it for 10 years."

Magnetized
So, has Glenn really retired the standing-on-the-drums thing at the start of I'm the Man Who Loves You?He also didn't do it at any of the Americanarama shows. So I think it's gone for good except for Solid Sound, or maybe some other special event that would warrant them making a big deal exception.
Yaz Rock
Haha, cool, thanks for the replies.
Atticus
I was still able to enjoy the concert despite Glenn not standing on his drums for ITMWLY.
bböp
Haha, cool, thanks for the replies.Actually they did do it at the AmericanaramA show in Peoria (shhh!), but I think that was because it was the band's first time ever playing there, which is sort of unbelievable in and of itself. But yeah, I think that "bit" is probably mostly done...haha.

Did you spot any special glances between Jeff and Glenn leading up to it?
linclink
Open Your Mind! NiceThat was my first thought too. Love that song...hope to see it live someday...and "Give Back The Keys To My Heart" too!! Sweet!!
bböp
That was my first thought too. Love that song...hope to see it live someday...and "Give Back The Keys To My Heart" too!! Sweet!!Not to be too nitpicky or anything, but I just have to say...the song is Open Mind. There's no "Your." And I think I've said it before, but it's just Give Back The Key To My Heart; there only one key! (And also, no "Me.") As for the Peoria thing, of course they knew they were "breaking the pledge" and I think Jeff acknowledged as much. He said basically that maybe it was OK because it was their first time playing in town. They have kept their word at the other shows I've seen since...
luke79
There were two tapers set up near Stan (the sound guy). I was going to tape but I saw that the other tapers were working with some pretty impressive gear so I thanked them for taping and enjoyed the show. I've seen a 6 shows on this tour and the Stubb's show was easily as great as the Red Rocks 2012 shows. Nice to get to hear Dead Flowers and It's Just that Simple.
