I'm not drunk anymore, wish I was, but thought I'd post this anyway.  This topic came about when I drunkenly called WilcoMe after an Alejandro Escovedo sighting a couple weeks back in Kansas City (when he wasn't even playing here, just here for fun thing).  While catching up and talking about the 1.5 years until the next Solid Sound, I joked that there needed to be a Wilco dating website.

Anyways it got me thinking.  As an regular bar-goer, what is your towns alt-country, Wilco hangout?

When I was in Brooklyn it seemed to be The Way Station.  In KC, perhaps the Westport Saloon?  I also found myself in Nashville for a few years, but can't guess what that place would be.

Oh, just realized. It's Valentine's Day.  How appropriate.

C'mon somebody, take this boy seriously! He needs a girl his own age that he can drunk dial!

I can vouch for him as a big Wilco fan :banana , a prodigious drinker   :beer and an all around good guy :thumbup  .

There, Matt, now you're on your own. :cheekkiss

This cracked me up. Took me back to 1990 or so, and drunk-calling girls at 1 or 2 in the morning. Good times. At least for me....probably not for the girls I woke up.

wherever it is, I'm pretty sure that folks groan and roll their eyes on the rare occasion that Ction stormed in to booze grouchily, and faces light up with glee on the equally rare occasion when Lotti makes a grand entrance.

Flip the names there and you got something.

Back on Topic / Maybe.../?

Are you asking where in my area a Great Place to Go where ALt Country Rock would be played Live and you can also get good beer?

Hell even if that's not your question for those ever in Greater Boston on a Friday take a quick trip to Atwoods Tavern in Cambridge.

Wilco Played Newport I attended the Fri show parked Strategically and booked back to Atwoods/Cambridge for a few songs..

Tim Gearon / a Great Local Singer Songwriter noticing his normally filled bar was impacted tremendously by the concert thanked the smaller crowd for attending instead of doing what everyone else did go to Wilco.

So yes you folks would love it there Eddie Vedder Peter Wolf and Bruce Springsteen have all dropped in. (Peter is there often and yea people leave him be.)
