Surprised I haven’t heard them play it live yet!

With some new Wilco dates coming up what songs are you surprised you haven’t seen Wilco play yet? Let’s stick with album tracks I guess...

I have seen them I think about 25 times since 1997...

Blue Eyed Soul (why hasn’t this really ever been played?!)

Too Far Apart

We’re Just Friends (long shot

Something of a tangent here, but I can't believe a second track from Ode hasn't been released yet. Not expecting the whole album to leak, but with the band hitting the road this week in Europe, I thought we'd have a second offering by now.

I haven't attended a show since the Whole Love so I'll spare y'all my favs from the last two records. I'll make one exception. I think 'More' has all of the marks of a classic Wilco song. I don't know why it's fallen off of the setlists.

Also pretty sure I still haven't seen:

Kamera

Pot Kettle Black

Wishful Thinking

November can't come fast enough!

Hey, somebody had to say it!

Honestly though, I've been luck to live in Chicago and see the band air out just about everything I could ever hope for, especially in the residencies, even deep cuts I've loved but would have never expected live like Panthers, Dark Neon and Message From Mid Bar.

Of the songs the band actually performs or has performed live (at least occasionally), the two I've never seen live but always wanted to are:

That's Not the Issue

More Like the Moon

More recently, I've never seen the half of Star Wars that got dropped from the sets after the initial run of playing the album straight through. I'd particularly like to have heard Taste the Ceiling and Magnetized. You Satellite seems like it'd be great live too.

I've seen well over 30 shows, plus 20+ Jeff shows and with almost all of those coming in Chicago, there really isn't anything that they've done live that I haven't seen.  That said, I've only seen Pieholden Suite maybe 3 times (2x Wilco, 1x Jeff), which is not nearly enough.

Would be cool if Chicago/Milwaukee dates got announced sometime!  I don't want to have to wait until SBS in January to see them again while everyone else in the country/Europe (save for the west coast) gets their shot!

Too Far Apart

Either Way

On & On & On

What Light

Captiol City

They played "Too Far Apart" in Hartford,CT back on The Whole Love tour, I would love to see it again. "Either Way" and "On & On & On" are great, although the latter seems a bit green due to lack of play. "Either Way" was one of the highlights of the Evening With tour in Boston. The whole audience takes over at one point, it was really communal. I can't even believe that you've missed "What Light" as that seems to me like a staple, I'd rather see the other Sky Blue Sky songs you've listed though. "Capitol City" was fun and they pulled off all the weirdness so that was pretty great.

"Kamera" and "Wishful Thinking" are great live (so is "Camera" for that matter). "Pot Kettle Black" is my second favorite Wilco song of all time: cherish your memories. Don't hear it live. All of those tiny sounds and bits are kind of untranslatable to a 6 person outfit touring. The whole musical interlude being reduced to a guitarmony kills me.

I've been sad to see Star Wars fall out of the lineup as I like it better than Being There and Summerteeth (Sacrilege!). Most, if not all of the songs are great live.

I think I only saw two shows on the Sky Blue Sky tour so that probably didn’t help..

My top 5 most wanted:

Casino Queen

Blue Eyed Soul

Dreamer in My Dreams

Pieholden Suite

When You Wake Up Feeling Old

Historically, I haven't seen as many shows as some of you, but I've seen a lot of in the past few years, so I've been treated to a lot of the newer material. The rarest songs I think I've heard would be Too Far Apart, Candyfloss, and probably Listening to the Wind That Blows. Song I've heard the most? Hummingbird!

Joe DiMaggio Done It Again - still can't believe they didn't try this one in Cooperstown 2012, at least.

Blasting Fonda - well, I guess I am not surprised they don't play it. But I've been waiting a long time to hear it.

Finally got my What Light at Solid Sound this summer.

Agree that Magnetized and You Satellite should be in regular rotation.

i’m watching the “shake it off” DVD with the wife and kiddos as I type (first viewing in a number of years- i forgot what an awesome, intimate peek the film is into the band’s process at the time). i have always felt that shake it off (the song) has gotten short shrift in terms of live performances. the rhythm/tempo shifts, the awesome vamp, jeff’s vocal- all of it is so much fun. i’m assuming the reason they haven’t pulled it out much is the tricky synchronization, and not because taylor swift had a bigger hit of the same title several years after...

regardless of the reason, i sneak a peek at wilcobase, and see it hasn’t been played since 2010? not even during the 20th anniversary residency and tour, with all the deep cuts? WTF?!?!?

thus begins my new request crusade. anyone who wants to join me in stuffing the ballot box, i’d appreciate you considering either night in boston in october.

They played it on 12/9/2014 during Winterlude. Fourth night of 6.

poor research on my part- thanks for setting the record straight. also, clearly a sign that I need to add the winterlude roadcase to my collection. we saw one of the capitol theatre shows that fall (10/29/14) and it was magical.

still, in all my years with wilco, i’ve never caught shake it off, and would love to hear it back in the live catalogue. you can also add me to the list of those who miss magnetized and you satellite. they were two of my favorites from the star wars tour shows we attended.
